Sorry but a correction, radar detector is not illegal to operate in Hong Kong, just the jammer will be caught red handed. Personally I will hope everyone drives with care and be responsible on the road.

Albert, the detector is legal to use here in HK, as you said, just the jammer is illegal. But for the cam recorder, I think it is legal too, just wanna record his driving bahavior and send to policestation only and this is what I mean here ^ ^.

Renus,

Yes, camcorder is also legal to use in HK cars. No problem... we know where we come from, right?!? hahaha

My "correction" is for N52B30. No offend , just to share that people not necessarily drive crazy to need a radar detector, as we know well those "runways" with 50/70 limits do trap many of us over here. No matter we are driving a 320 or 335, lightly tap on the pedal can reach 100 in a fly... sometime a small investment can save losses from silly mistakes.

little_croco> thanks for the information mate! i think i'm going to need one because there are lots of places in hk where the speed changes from 100 to 50 or 80 to 50, which can really catch people out easily, especially when police like to hide just 10 metres away from these locations!!

Talk about disgrace to bmw drivers, this morning to work, I got tailgated by some asshole white van. I did'nt feel like racing when I am doing my commute, so I just let him pass me, but if I were in a more nasty mood, I just might let him eat my exhuast. Then, I got cutoff by this #$%^@ black 135i M who was doing at least 160 km down Shing Mun Tunnel Road. He then cut into the other lane and cut back, in front of like ten cars. He's a disgrace to ALL bmw drivers. He's utterly reckless. He would have hit me had I drove just a bit faster. I normally keep cool, but I really had it dealing with aggressive and road rage driving every darn day. What the f**k is wrong with these drivers? They make me so furious!!

I met a grey 135i before,he was chasing me at sudden,i was a little bit fast at that time but I was just enjoying myself. He passed few cars then chased pretty close with my rear,If I braked then hes gonna kissmyass.I noticed that ton of 1series owners got a nasty mood, just like they're driving a tank but not a BMW.

No, we do it responsibly. There is a time and place to drive fast and there are places you don't. You don't do it in traffic with cars and school buses around you. Get it?

There should be more unmarked police cars on the roads to catch aggressive drivers... Not much has been done in highlighting road rage in HK... except for a few pathetic campaigns on TV promoting awareness in "courteous driving"...

There's zero enjoyment to driving fast in HK, roads just aren't designed that way, and there's freaking traffic everywhere

then you made the right choice by getting the 323...the way you guys describe it a 335 would have little to no purpose there ...unless you take it to the track

you can drive fast even you're driving a 120i or Honda Jazz,no one said the road in HK only accept 335i or above can drive fast.
I enjoy driving in HK,more challenge than you only drive on a straight and wide road with only few cars.
Drive fast is relaxing,at least to me.but I dun think chasing and passing other cars on the road nastily is good.

Alpine3. Driving in HK is like driving in NYC.
I used to live in Boston and often commuted to NYC.
So I know what I'm saying.

I would pick driving in HK/Boston over NYC.

Yeah I like to drive fast on certain twisty road in Hong Kong at certain times which I will not mention (so that I don't incriminate myself!), that's when I can truly enjoy the 3 series handling. But driving fast on an empty stretch of road and driving fast and cutting off people in heavy traffic are two entirely different matter. I am getting accustomed to the aggressive driving in Hong Kong and getting cutoff everytime I drive here, but there is a limit to how much I can tolerate. More and more I am seeing dangerous driving and utter disregard for the safety of other road users by certain drivers. And it's not just those #$%% red minibus and taxi drivers that routinely cut me off. I am talking about certain bmw drivers out there. Driving a nice bmw does not entitle them to drive like a maniac. I never understand why the police never bothers to crack down on road rage in Hong Kong. Rather then handing out speeding tickets for going 0.1 km over the limit, why don't they actually do something about the tailgating and reckless driving? It's the driving behaviour rather then the speed limit that is the issue. Don't you think it's absurd for the police fine me for going slightly over the limit when I am posing no danger to myself and other road users, while they routinely ignore the dangerous and aggressive driving here?

Wolfman, I do (also think like some of us here too) share with you.

I saw him when I way back from Tai Wai to Tsuen Wan, a middle-age man not boy probably 4x, 4-eye, moded with quad-exhaust if I didn't see it wrongly.
