EGR by-pass
Spotted this on ebay:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-E46-E9...item23182c9005 Anyone else fitted one of these to their 320d, is it worth it? I'll be changing my EGR thermostat and giving the inlet etc a good clean out as I get a fair bit of black smoke when boosting, thought this by pass thingy may help with the smoke reduction. |

It'd be good if it did work with a 335d, I would imagine that there would need to be some custom coding to extinguish the EML
As is the case for most EGR bypass pipes, it bring n the EML |

I looked into these for my 2007 320d, they only work on the previous 3 series engines or maybe very early E9x's. You will end up getting the exhaust fault light if you fit it due to the way the system/sensors work. I tried an EGR restrictor I found on ebay that fitted well but still caused a fault light after a while.
There also seems to be an argument that says that these cause the exhaust gas to run hotter possibly causing turbo issues. I am no expert but did quite a bit of searching when thinking about doing this myself... |
