Has anyone used e-maps for remapping?

As per the title, I was wondering if anyone had used these guys to get their car remapped, and if so what the experience was like?

I haven't used them, but I've heard good things. I've spoken to Simon and he is a top chap.

As you're from Kent, you might need a phase book though. "Yam, yam". (only 'cos I know Simon comes on here sometimes )

not had a map from him, i went with superchips for the map, very pleased with the map been on for 3 years nearly, we done a rolling road test and the same cars 335d's one with e maps and one with DMS were putting out the same power and emaps was cheaper too, i think most mappers are good to go with now,

I also spoke with Simon and he seems a top bloke witha good reputation, his prices are agreeable too plus he is mobile.

I ended up using Evolve and have been very satisfied with the results and with the xmas special offers all are comparitive at the moment.

Superchips also offer an excellent service and if you visit the Bucks HQ (MK18) they will both discount and do a before and after dyno plus you will get a 12 month (extendable) warranty.

I personally would give Superchips a call.

Wow! just checked the superchips website, and they claim to increase the bhp of my 318d to 185bhp and an extra 80nm of torque for £489! sounds good to me!

Does anyone know if they will put the map back on for free if the dealer wipes it when being serviced?

Apparently that is the case but I hope I'll never have to find out. My car was the 'mule' for the Superchips one and I would highly recommend it - completely different car now

my map was wiped in july i think this year,DTC light stayed on, had to have a new part fitted to the diff, then they had to reprograme it, i thought shit, anyway had the work done, and the map was wiped, had to phone up superchips where i live, and had it put back on, it was 2 years since it was done, they said i had to pay for there time, so i gave £50 to have it back on, once it was gone it felt so shit and very laggy, it pissed me off not having it

I'm asuming you used a local approved dealer then as Superchips HQ would not charge you for what is a common occurence beyond your control.

There's no going back once remapped, the diiferences are just so great.

My 335d has an Emaps map on it. Its now in over a year and it is fantastic.

Would not dream of being without it. Car feels much faster.

My E92 335d was re-mapped by Simon at e-maps. As others have said, nice bloke and good job done - end of.

Link to my thread but you'll have to skip through the banter I'm afraid lol..........Carlos's fault probably, eh Carl.

Had mine done by Simon around 12 months ago. Great results & good bloke and I would not hesitate to recommend.

When you have done all of the research you can eventually you are just going to have to go with your gut feel on this.

this is correct but the insurer (Firebond PLC) contact you after 12 months and offer an additional 12 months/30,000 miles for a small premium - @ £50 from memory.

The warranty covers all aspects that your manufacturers warranty may try to refuse as a consequence of having a remap.

To be fair i don't know if anyone has ever had to claim but it shows confidence that they are prepared to have a warranty underwritten in the first place.

The only reason i wouldn't recommend DMS is their extortionate pricing, but I guess someone has to help re-cooperate those marketing budgets, is there a magazine they don't advertise in ?

Plenty of companies to choose from, I've had maps from 3 different companies on my E90 and am happiest with my latest one which is from one of the forum Sponsers Evolve.

Check out Evolve's Christmas discounts and offers as they are probably cheaper than the competition at the moment. Maps from DMS, Evolve and Emaps are all good and most owners have had no major problems.

Jules.
