I see you're going crazy subscribing in a few threads...
You realize that there's a drop down menu at the top of every thread, called "Thread Tools", where you click a link to do that? You don't need to actually post in the thread to be able to subscribe to it... It's just annoying to see a thread bumped like that with no extra info... |

Sorry to chime in just bought a 09 335i coupe with 35000km on the odometer and after a lot of research I was about to buy the jb4 tune with the DCI but then I just saw this thread resurrected to the top which I have now read through post 1 to the end. Can I assume that the JB4 or Cobb tunes will most definitely increase or guarantee that I will need to do spark plugs and coils etc soon. Or are the people on here claiming misfires and codes just a handful of people but there are hopefully many happy jb4 owners who have been driving there tuned 335i and not run into these issues? I guess what I'm asking is are these misfires a absolute certain path when you tune your car even with 35000km on a 09????

Cheers with continued reading and searching it seems the plugs and coils will go at some point sooner than later and perhaps injectors.. The tune speeds up the process... The cost of performance lol...

Probably boost leak. Did you pop the hood and look for anything obvious like a charge pipe blown off or cracked? |

Well, plugs are just regular maintenance items… Gonna need to change them tuned or not. Just another interval when tuned mate.

2F91 engine speed limitation with vehicle stationary 2a2c fuel mixture control 2 2a2b fuel mixture control I read on N54-Tech that it was a bad JB4 board. Not to scare you yet but you should clear the codes and see which come back first. Then I always like to update firmware and maps on any tunes and reset adaptations. If that doesn't work then I like to take the tune out and see if the codes still persist. At the end of the day you need to find the boost leak which could be anywhere pre intercooler all the way to the throttle body and in between. |

Also any vacuum lines could be torn or leaking too. There are several under the engine bay. Most people with aftermarket intercoolers usually have a leak at the intercooler connections though. So check and tighten them. You should probably make a new thread in the regular section as this thread is primarily for first time tuners and misfires. |

So I went ahead and changed all 6 injectors and coded them. Started up the car but the SES light is still on. The car no longer sputters or sounds like its gonna cut out when started up. Havent taken it out for a drive yet, still got to put the cowling and stuff back on. Any ideas why SES light still on?

Quick translation is the following fuel at high pressure to release the injection pressure too low error is not currently available, not obd-debounced error does not cause the warning lamp light up Are these old codes stored in the computer that need to be cleared? |

My friend just bought a 2008 335xi. On the drive home we found out that it had a bad misfire. We changed all of the plugs with new ones and replaced all coils with the coils removed from my 335 (which does not have a misfire). This didn't resolve the issue. So I guess it is the injectors? I hooked up my laptop with the inpa software to read the codes. It said misfire in cylinders 5 and 6. So I check the injectors... cylinder 5 and 6 have this new injector (index 11). All other cylinders have old injectors (not the originals. They have the second revised injectors). Could these two new injectors be bad?

we replaced the injectors for cylinders 4, 5 and 6 with new injectors (index 12). That still didn't resolve the misfire issue. Next I think we will replace the injectors in cylinder 1 and 2 with the -11 index injectors we took out of cylinders 5 and 6.

I had issues that were close to what you are describing multiple misfires codes would not clear after changing all plugs all coils still persisted. I left it overnight battery disconnected to reset adaptions and next day after running like a tractor for 3 days problem was gone no misfires, worth a try a can't hurt and it is free.

Cylinders 4,5 and 6 have the new injectors I put in, which didn't have any impact on the misfires. That tells me that the old injectors I took out must have been OK. I already put two of them back in cylinders 1 and 2 (because they had the really old injector part numbers). That didnt help. Lastly, I'm going to put the other one I took out and put it in cylinder 3. Hopefully that will do the job. I already replaced spark plugs and put in coils from another care. |
