I have a Crimson Red 335i. I'm debating on getting BMS Dual Cones or this. I don't know if the $300 difference is worth the aesthetics though.

Me 2, I would like to see a dyno difference between the 2.

It only uses one of the air intake scoops?

Yes, but if you look at it closely, there is enough overflow coming in to feed both filters..

having said that, I do agree with you that using both one to each filter would have been optimal.. Have not seen a DCI designed that way yet though

Hey Ramos,

glad you enjoying the intake. I'm the other guy in the green shirt that was there. Car feels much perkier now huh? Funny thing, I heard you got freaked the first time you revved it up and heard that whooosh, lol.

BTW, nice garage. Wish I could keep mine that clean.

Wouldn't it hypothetically be better to lessen the distance traveled between the air filters and the engine? Possibly more efficient since the air doesn't have to travel a longer distance? Or does that not make a difference at all?

i.e. Injen DCI vs. BMS/Vishnu DCI?

I could be wrong, but I thought it made sense........

Thanks man.. it was nice to meet you... beautiful car..
I painted the garage myself and put in the epoxy flooring also, not as durable as I had hoped.. a few spots are torn up already..
I do keep it clean as I keep my dog in there when it is not too hot... Can't have too much stuff lying around for him to chew on !!!

The whoosh sound is pretty cool, only there around 3K RPM when you floor the throttle, so it is not intrusive or annoying at all

Sounds logical but I doubt it makes that much difference, I think the air flow is much more important than distance traveled. I went with Injen since they are a proven company in the field of intakes + looks very nice also

Did some more aggressive driving today and the temps are in fact 5-10 degrees cooler than before... Range now is 230-240 whereas before I was used to seeing 240-250

It was also 60 today though, will report back on a hotter day...
Does it make sense for a DCI to help lower oil temps?

The cooler temps hold true for me too. If I am cruising around the freeways, no traffic, my temps never go above 230ish. Only time they go back up to 240 is when I am stuck in traffic or just putting around locally.
