Switched to Red Line 5W30 Oil!
I ran Lubro Moly (Liqui Moly) 5W30 for about 2 years without any issues in my 08 328i. I did two oil analysis samples with Blackstone, and everything came back okay. For some random reason, I wanted to give R L a shot. After switching to R L cold start ups feel smoother, and the engine gets down to a normal RPM operating range quicker. MPG is the same. Everything just seems to feel and sound a bit smoother and quieter. I used to get the famous ticking sound here and there when doing short trips around the city. Now that seems to be nonexistent. Overall I'm really happy with the oil. I'll report back when I do my first oil analysis.
A couple good articles: http://www.europeancarweb.com/news/e...ils/index.html http://www.redlineoil.com/news_article.aspx?id=13

Socom, remember a while back I posted my Blackstone lab report (you responded)? They found high levels of aluminum, and this was after the initial 1200 mile break in oil change. All the other numbers were within normal range. The last report looked a little better, though. I'm anxious to see what the numbers are with R L 5W30.
