Coilovers options for xi
Hey! I suppose this has been answered some where before, but I can't seem to find the answers to my question:
What coilovers are available for the xi? I'm looking at the KW V1s right now, but am always considering alternatives. Assuming the KW V1s cost about $1500, then that's my max budget. The car is a DD, and I don't care for the slammed looked, but I do like a lowered more aggressive stance. Suggestions other than KW V1s? |

you can also look a tc klines maybe just a little more but is a great product . Do a search on the tc klines there are plenty of positive reviews along with the kw's as there are also very popular.

wait till spring.... I am in nb and doing the same, no point setting them up now
each time you raise/lower the vehicle or put on summer/winters you will a to rebalance and align so no point doing it now imho I would go for the tckr kline setup over the k1 personally |

The TC Kline looks good too, but I was hoping for solutions that are less expensive than V1. I've also found H&R Street Performance coils for the xDrive, which seem to cost noticeably less than the V1.
I'm planning the purchase in the winter, then to be installed when the spring weather comes. So far we've got, KW V1, V3, TC Kline, H&R. Any others? Doesn't seem like too much options for xDrive. =/ |

You can get V1's for less than $1,500 if you look around - VRSF specifically. Vendors on here sometimes do Black Friday discounts so keep your eye open for that. When you find them on sale I'd pull the trigger. Then you can decide whether you want to wait until after the winter to put them on (that's what I did) or put them on right away.

The TC Klines interest me because they incorporate a shorter strut body in front:
http://www.tcklineracing.com/webdocs...Details690.cfm Note this price includes camber plates. This is important on the Xi since the top of the lower strut is taller than non Xi. So with a shorter strut you get more travel and lower ride height. Anyone running these who has some experience with this please chime in. BTW the taller front strut is why so many XI's have that awful rake when they use non XI springs. |

I have the TC Kline on my car. Single adjustable fronts and double adjustable rears. Front springs are Hyperco 450 and rears are Swift 672. Also have GC street camber plates. I've only had this setup on for a few weeks and have been adjusting the rebound to get it where I want it. The only issue I had was that I needed to trim about 1/2" off the bump stops to get more compression travel up front at my ride height. I also had to order adjustable end links because the OEM Xi front swaybar endlinks are too long when you lower the car. You need between an 11.5-12" end link with this setup.
So far the setup is great. I do wish that Koni made a double adjustable to fit the front of our cars as they are really smooth. Quote:
