Exhaust pipe cleaning

My Exhaust tips are starting to look very black, i wash them but the black stuff doesn't seem to come off. What do you guys use to keep them looking shiney and new? I've got stock exhaust for a 2010 E90 LCI 323i.
Also what are the exhausts made of?
Thanks in advance.

If it's chrome tips, try using Autosol. It'll get rid of the black char and bring up the shine to a degree. You can pick that up in most auto shops or even Bunnings.

Any aftermarket exhaust will be loud, so stick with stock? But on a serious note, BMW PE isn't that loud once the car is warmed up.

Tell your folks that your exhaust has rusted out and that's why the tips are black, then order in a new bmw exhaust of the .pe variety?

I was surprised how good the pe sounds on even the 325i

This is the problem, I love my PE but its so damn loud first 20 secs in the morning. I have a feeling it wakes everyone. Other than that, perfect exhaust to get IMO

Do you guys with the PE notice a difference on cold starts if you connect/disconnect the valve?

Yup!

Give it a go sometime and see what it does (it only takes 30 seconds and is easily reversible)
