Resets after OIL changes?

Hi,

I have changed the front and rear differential and doing the transfer case next plus the manual tranny.

Are there any reset functions i need to do for any of the above?

Thank you.

What'd the old oil look like. A mechanic friend told me it would be a waste of time to change it out...

You should get it analyzed (if there is a place that does that like engine oil)

Also, the dealer told me you don't need to reset anything... The old x5s needed to though

Let me just say that pictures are worth thousand words.
I don't think i need the oil to be analyzed.
This oil is BLACK. the car has 110.000km. so much for lifetime oil. I would change every 50k. for the amount of work and the small cost (even dealership cost), it is worth every penny as it is way cheaper than new tranny, diff or transfer case.

My manual tranny oil and transfer case oil were black but my diff oil front and back looked new. I changed all at once with 106K miles.

I've read in the Xi subforums the transfercase needs to be reset since it adapts to the oil over time. So you'll need to tell the TC its new oil.

Some type of diagnostic tool, if you have a BT tool you can DIY, or you'd have to get it done at a INDY shop or the dealer. Theres a little more info on it in the Xi/xdrive sub forums i remember reading
