Swapping stick for automatic?

I have a 2006 330xi and i got it for a great deal. I grew up on a farm and i have always been a truck guy so this is a little different to me, I've pulled engines multiple times but the BMW is a mystery to me. I wanted a stick car but this car came up and it was a deal i couldn't pass up. I am wandering how available a stick transmission would be and approximately how much it would run me? I am guessing with a stock transmission thats stick i wouldn't run into to many electrical issues, but i don't know I've never swapped transmissions. any advise would be appreciated.

You'd be asking for trouble... and it would not be cheap. Enjoy her the way she is man!

I did this with a 1997 Maxima, and that wasn't too big of a deal, but I had access to the complete factory service manuals and the car was simply less complicated. However, I said I would never do it again. It's just not worth it.
