Morning!

Does anyone have any experience of the above tyres? Looking at sticking some middle of the range 225/40/18 tyres on my GTi; I'm only planning to use them for a little while as I'm wanting to get some BBS CH's for it, early next year.

They're about £70-80 a tyre and most reviews I've read have said they were very good value for the price. Some say they're crap in the wet - but should any tyre in this day and age be 'crap' - unless the car's being pushed to it's boundaries at the wrong time? Surely, every tyre now sold mainstream will have followed strict industry regulations and gone through more testing than we can even imagine, before Mr Health and Safety will allow it to go on sale - especially over here in the UK?!?

Had them fitted to my e90 320d, (225/45/18 front and 255/35/18 rear)no problems at all, a good all round tyre in all weather conditions and for the money they are good value.

I've got 2 fitted to my ahem..corsa, but so far so good! wet or dry they seem to grip very well. I fitted two on the back and will deff be buying another two for the front.

I was going to post something similar at Piston Heads - but they all seem to be Formula 1 driver wannabes across there and most of the 'crap' replies are made by 12 year olds who've never drove a car, let along tested fucking tyres

After thinking about this earlier today - Am I the only one who thinks that the 'Premium' brands mostly sell because of name/reputation nowadays? The more I think of it, the more what I mentioned in the first post makes sense. In this day and age, how and why would any company contemplate selling rubbish tyres? There's a lawsuit on every corner these days - so they all must comply to a stern testing at some point. No?

I've owned pretty much every top premium tyre make there is and the only one which stood out for me was Michelin; and the only 2 reasons why they stood out was because a) the tread lasted about 10,000 miles more and b) the road noise was a smidgen less. There wasn't any make which felt more planted than others - at any speed.

Good point about tyres having to comply to some benchmark standard type test, however my boss had a brand new cheapo set of tyres fitted to his 306 diesel, and in the wet they were hurrendously bad and I actually wondered how the F they were allowed to sell them like that and there must be some minimum level they had to perform to?
