Retaining Spring for brake replacement

I went to Real OEM and read on what parts are required for a brake job. The Real OEM site recommends replacing a retaining spring for cars older than 4 years old. Can someone tell me what is this "retaining spring" they are referring to? Which part # is this and how many do I need to replace?

It's a leaf spring that goes between the caliper and the pad carrier. It will be removed during a pad change. You can probably get away with using it longer, but its cheap to change and reccomended. There is one per caliper.

It is not essential to replace it but if you are changing pads that often it is a good maintenace item to consider. However, you may have only changed pads once in a 50,000 mile period under normal street use... You can see the part on the out side of the caliper when looking through the wheel.

Is this called the "clip"? On the Real OEM site it's part #34216753675.
