E90 335xi M-sport coolant reservoir question.

Sorry for the dumb question. My 2011 BMW E90 335xi M-Sport gave a low coolant warning the other day. I drove my daily beater over to BMW and got the cool blue BMW coolant, mixed it, and went to top it off today.

My issue is that when I opened the reservoir, there is no red plastic "floater" apparent in the reservoir tank that i know the older 335/328's had. Additionally the diagram imprinted on the reservoir seems to indicate that this model might not have a floater. (It looks like from the diagram this model is supposed to only have a visual (min/max) indication from looking down into the reservoir, and not a "dip-stick" indication.)

Did some internet research about horror stories of broken red plastic dip-sticks on the floater getting into the coolant system, got a little worried, and this all brings me to ask:

Does the 2011 E90 335xi M-Sport reservoir have (suppose to have) the red plastic dip-stick floater? Or was this changed in later e90 revisions to the non-dipstick style reservoir?

Thanks!

There is no red float in your tank. This is what the min/max indicator looks like this.

The level usually needs to get decently low before the warning comes on. Keep an eye on it after you refill it to make sure you don't have a leak.

I believe if your vehicle is an LCI your tank is just visual. min/max as my vehicle has. I was happy to see the red float stick was phased out.
