They are a good bit of kit. Cutting seatbelts can be a life saver

I'm getting one but I won't be keeping it in the glove compartment as they suggest. Imagine being trapped by the seatbelt and not being able to reach the glove compartment but knowing that's in their.

I've got a torch with glass hammer, seat belt cutter, and red flashy led's to warn other drivers, it also has a magnetic head on it so you can keep it on metallic objects.
Rather stupidly I dont keep it in the car but with what happened on the M5 I think i may start doing so. |

Made me think as well, ordered one today for the car, think I will put it in centre console and maybe screw it to the inside.
Hopefully I never need to use it. |

There's a little pocket on the front of my seat that will be ideal. Grim thought but want to make sure I can reach it with either hand if, god forbid I ever need it.

This one looks very similar and, when you consider that it's free shipping, it works out at less than half price: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silverline-2...f=pd_cp_auto_3

Have you read this chaps review of this product...
14 of 42 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars A must for all hammer fans, 22 Feb 2009 By Thobert - See all my reviews This review is from: Silverline 250248 Emergency Hammer and Belt Cutter (DIY & Tools) This is a great hammer but in my experience it did not quite live up to its name. I tried it out twice when I was faced by emergency situations and found it somewhat lacking in sophistication. The first emergency was at the weekend when I needed to open several bottles of beer quickly. I found that hitting the bottles with the hammer certainly opened them but I was left a little disappointed at the amount of broken glass in my drink. It was such a problem that I gave up after opening just 6 bottles that way. The next emergency followed almost immediately when I found myself bleeding profusely from the mouth. I tried using the hammer to call for an ambulance but merely suceeded in destroying my phone. Please do not be put off from purchasing this great hammer though as I am sure it has many great features. Unfortunately my experiments were cut short when I passed out but doctors say I will be let out again soon. Nutter

There is something like this in the boot of my X5, is that what its for or something else?
Not the best position for sure as could be rather hard reaching into boot if trapped in front of car. |

Very good, I like his sense of humour. Have a look at his cheese grater review here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/cdp/membe...stRecentReview
