Does my Canadian-spec 2012 E91 LCI 328i Touring xDrive have TPMS or not?

Does my car have TPMS or not? It is a Canadian spec 2012 E91 LCI 328i Touring xDrive.

I'm very confused, because:

- some forum posts seem to indicate this model doesn't have TPMS
- some other forum posts indicate that the most recent cars all have TPMS
- I have rubber valve stems - some forum posts indicate that this means I don't have TPMS
- my independent tire dealer looked at it and said it doesn't have TPMS
- I called my dealership (The BMW Store on Burrard in Vancouver) that sold me the car in June 2012 (just a few months ago), and they said that this car *does* come standard with TPMS.

I'm so confused. I am about to buy a set of wheels with snow tires, would love to save the $200-$300 on TPMS if possible.

Thanks all.

I don't believe we have TPMS. That's an American road standard and not on Canadian cars.

I'm almost 99% sure.

Edit: don't think it's important in Ontario, but might have been in Vancouver.

Rubber = no TPMS. from what i understand some cars do have the TPMS (mine) even being a Canadian model (as per vin decode).

The same situation happened when I got my car last year and I was so confused too. The easiest way to know is as you mentioned, rubber stem = no tpms. If you have iDrive then the confusion can also happen as there is a tire pressure check/monitor in the vehicle check menu but from what I understand the car checks if you have a flat from the rotation of the tires/ABS. Someone can correct me if I am wrong. Hope it helps!

My vehicle's service date was 2011.

Rubber stems on OEM rims = no TPMS modules.

Swapped my OEM with 18" rims without TPMS modules, just had to do a reset on the iDrive and that was it.

Recently, had snow tires installed on my OEM rims - no TPMS module.

So it would appear that the TPMS system ABS based.
