Why? Easy, first because one does not get any of these codes and/or messages each and every single time the OEM exhaust is replaced for an aftermarket, even a BMW Performance catback, etc.

Second, when my injectors rack were replaced I got a copy of the codes printout from when it went in for service, looked each of them up and none of them meant anything other than the injectors issue. The real and ultimate proof that, at least on VB73 335s, the unplugging does NOTHING!!!!

Now watch as despite this the debate goes on and on and on.....
Incorrect, it does list a code, my dealership ended up replacing the actuator because the code registered. I had it unplugged for a week but then plugged it back in.

i dopnt understand why people are making a big deal. sure it will throw a hidden code. its not going to ding around at all saying there is an error. this is not the type of thing that will cause the dealership to void ur warranty. if you are scared it will, plug it back in before service, takes 5 seconds. sure the code will be there and if they look (probably wont) nothing will look out of the ordinary. people are so paranoid. its so dumb

or just just reach down there and pull the thing off and stick a bb in it and stick back on and you're set.

Anybody have a BB they'd sell me? Not the kind of thing I have around the house, and I haven't been able to find the right sized ball bearing at local hardware stores.

Had this now for nearly a year and no issues or codes. The car sounds great. The best mod I could have done without spending any money. I love the pops and farts the car gives when you let go of the gas. It sounds amazing.

So for those of us with the Procede, can we just clear the codes using the Procede if we chose to unplug this?

TIA

The bmw performance exhaust made by bmw does not have the flapper, so I don't know why everyone is overreacting about unplugging it.

Love the sound but hate the rattle.

Reseting the exhaust actuators

Hi, I unplugged the actuator control in the trunk today and I realised that it doesn't reset when you plug it back in. The butterfly valve seems to remain open all the time now (ie doesnt close when starting the car, or at low revs)

Has anyone else had the same problem? Mine's a 2007 e92 335i.

And what about everyone who gets aftermarket exhaust? I've never heard a single person raise an issue with getting that done.

Maybe its just because I am only a 330i but I didn't notice any difference in sound by doing this.

Try this today. Took me less than 2 minutes.

Slightly louder and had a nice deeper tone. Love it.

Thanks for the sharing.
