Hi Guys - have just traded-up to my first BMW.
Moving from a Golf 1.9 TDI PD 150 to E91 325d M Sport Touring. Collect the car next Thursday, can't wait Car is ex-dem, 4500miles and pretty much mint. Although was in two minds at the time as I've been test driving Audi A4 Avant's and A3 Sportback 170 TDI. BMW 320-330d engines seemed more refined though and nicer level or trim/kit as standard in models. Any other 325d owners out there ? What kind of fuel economy are you getting ? Here's a quick pic - not great quality, but will post some later next week Any tips for handover, etc? What about tyre insurance and GAP? Dealer seems quite expensive, has anyone looked at third-party GAP and tyre insurance policies? Never had RFT's - so a little worried about replacement cost...... Great forum btw

Welcome to the forum Lovely looking car.
There are a number of 325d owners on the forum. If you do a bit of a you'll find a number of mentions of 3rd party GAP and tyre insurance due to the high cost of the dealer offerings. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61369 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65224 http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64376

Hi DervFan, and welcome (from another fairly new member!).
Great choice of car, my last BMW was a E91 320d M Sport Touring. So what is the spec of your new chariot? and what sort of deal did you get? There is plenty of info about GAP on here, as mjh has indicated. I would heartily recommend www.click4gap.co.uk , avoid the dealer product because of their very large mark up |

Welcome to the sight Dervfan, the tourers` are really growing on me, as for consumption mine always ends up at 37 mpg (prob 45% motorway) but in fairness the torque does get used a lot. Mine`s been re-mapped by DMS and today I picked up a 318d badge for the back (that should annoy a few Scooby drivers )

Well everythings on schedule, dealer doing alloy refurb and a couple of touch-ups on the paintwork I noticed during inspection.
Finance in place (and more importantly in my bank ), temporary BMW cover to enable them to tax it - everything looking good for Thursday

I expect that you are on tenterhooks waiting for tomorrow.
Hope that all goes well and having spent the day in the company of an E91 325d I don't think you'll be disappionted. Got about 37mpg with some serious stop-start city driving and giving it some beans. Good luck and don't forget the pics

Looking forward to the drive home from the dealer (about 50 miles) in my 325d, and with those mpg figures I don't think I'll be disappointed :rocks:

Well unfortunately I haven't been able to collect the car today.
Wheel refurb and paint touch-ups have been hampered by the rain in MK. In fairness to the sales guy, he has delayed as he said he doesn't want the job rushed today and is even coming in tomorrow (although it's his day-off) to do the handover for me before the weekend. Hopefully everything will go to plan tomorrow, well I'm they will
