WHo keeps their car indoors during the winter?

Just was curious how many protect their cars by keeping it in an indoor heated/unheated garage for the winter months?

Or those tempo tentlike canvasses?

Does it make a huge difference to the shine of the car if it is exposed to winter?

I keep my car in my garage year around, my parents new Accord has been outside since last winter and the paint looks very dull.

If you want to take good care of your car, keep it in a heated-garage all year round.

Ouch no garage here

Would you think getting a white-car would be better without a garage, as opposed to JB/Black Sapphire or does it really not make a difference?

I park in a garage at home and at work, but of course driving between the two means my car ends up coated with salt and dirt all winter.

I always garage my car while at home and usually try to use the parking structure at work. Sometimes I can't help it though when I'm at a client site and they just have an open parking lot

I park my car inside the garage and it is fully insulated. When I get into my car in the middle of winter the dial still shows about +10 Degrees.

I never park it outside @ home.

Thanks. I also heard a heated garage is one to avoid as it speeds up the oxidation process of the salt on your car. Best is unheated.

sure if you have oxidation then heat will speed it up, but that happens in the summer months too. stop oxidation before it happens!

I keep mine in the garage all year round and only drive it on the weekends. I have a '90 Camry I drive back and forth to work, so the Bimmer stays nice and clean!

it's not a ferrari, you bought it to drive, so drive it, what's the point letting it sit and collect dust ?

I live in a condo in downtown vancouver so it's always in an underground parkade, although I'm moving out for 2 months for the olympics so it'll most likely be parked on the road during that time

If you have a house in Toronto and you live south of Lawrence, good luck being able to garage your car. I have a single car garage and its full of crap, even with a good organization system. A house with a two gar garage is probably north of $2MM and many houses at that price range don't even have a garage!

exactly....and even if i did have a ferrari, i'd drive that too. the only way i'd keep a car in the garage to look at is if i had 2 of them...one for the garage, one for the road. statues are meant to sit, cars are meant to be driven!

I have to chime in here. Mine is parked outside and driven every day. I was going to park it for the winter but then storage + depreciation made me think twice. If it's going to depreciate, I want to drive it instead of losing money with it just sitting there.
