Mustang GT run

Had a nice little run today with a Mustang GT off a red light start.

Wasn't really even thinking of playing but as he kept inching forward and gave me this sh*t eating grin when I looked over I thought I would oblige now that my Dinan S3 flash has had its time to settle in. Boy, thought it would be closer! Let him hit it first and then dusted him till he back off and turned. What really surprised me was my Tq really kicked his ass.

Might even try on a 302 Boss next if one show up with the same attitude, as long as a GT500 isn't watching!

Depending on your mods, you'd probably beat a GT500 too.

With 650hp/600tq doubt it would even be close but I like your confidence!

GT500's range from 2007 with only 500hp, upto the new beasty with 662 hp. Its all in fun but yours might be short lived if you pull up on a Black tail lamp grill-less ones.

The GT did it have a GT badge on the fender?

Is anyone else surprised Dinan doesn't offer downpipes? Would help make a lot more power.

A 5.0 should have beaten you.....no offense. Sounds like the Mustang needs a driver mod....

This isn't true. Stock they make more or less same power as we do with tune only. If they go FBO and we go FBO you'd likely win based on weight. Stock vs you FBO no contest.

I raced one at the track who had bolt-ons and he was cutting 1.7-1.8 60' and still was only able to run low 13's.

Once you add a tune you'll blow by np.

Boss 302's are suppose to run 12.6 1/4's so watch out of stock or not

Sounds like you've had different results then me?

And yes, when cars are marginally close it always comes down to the driver.

NP, none taken.

5.0 are very fast cars, all my really good friends have 5.0 so i get to drive them all the time. Full bolt on 5.0 with tires run mid 11s.... You are right, if you dont know how to drive it then it will be slower then a stock 335i

At PBIR FBO 5.0's have never ran better than low 12's off the bottle. Multiple cars so I don't think it's driver error.

Not street legal, they'd be stupidly priced & more people who track their cars buy M3s (better stock setup for a track, n/a motor isn't as susceptible to overheating, etc)

A 5.0 going 11.67 with drags doesn't disprove the op's results.
