dam, that sucks op , I hope u enjoy your next car whatever it may be and dunn have any problems with it. Unfortunately as everybody is saying these n54 engines are a true hit or miss. They really are finicky motors, but Im sure if you give it another go with bmw, you could get a reliable car. best a luck

Sorry to heard that...Maybe look at the M3s e46 or e9X...Audi S4 isn't a bad choice. My car has been fine and dandy

I had 7 fuel pumps 2 times injectors 1 time turbos 2 times wastegates and few other minor problems but i still like the 335 more than my previous cars cause at least the 335 has known problems that can be fixed at dealers and 335 takes a beating, at least my car. I was tuned since 200 miles on odo and i beat my car driven 60k+ in 1 and half year span. I did that kinda of driving on my 05 TL, 06 Maxima, 05 G35, 02 Boxster and beat those cars to but they sure didnt throw any "limp modes" but sure didnt take the beating to good either. Something was wrong with the car but problem was nowhere to be found until the car breaks down for good. At least the BMW/335 has known problems and IMHO takes a good beating and dealers gives you BMW loaners and fix the car no charge. I really cant complain. 335 defitnitly isnt a POS tho.

Sorry for the rant. I just needed to vent.

I would get a 5.0 and save tons of cash! 411HP and they look really good with the redisgned rear end! I am seriously considering one when I get my next car. M3 power for 30k. Not bad

That would be all it would take for me to ditch BMW for good too. Good luck with your next brand!

I just clocked 67000 miles....took my car to dealer couple weeks ago due to wastegate rattle and they decided to replace my turbos by themselves....! that aside, the car has been stellar for me and I drive it pretty hard w' a tune ever since it had 2K on it (turboTuner)...I guess it's def a hit or miss from what I've seen. sorry to hear your bad experiences, is def a keeper for me.

Why would you install the HPFP yourself. Warranty coverage on the HPFP till 120,000 miles??

I don't think the actual replacement is that bad; it's just the damn part is expensive as hell.

The HPFP was 2100? I think that person got bent over pretty good.

I would say hand on there ! You may have to replace the HPFP with the latest model again and after this I don't think you will have any more problems.

Mine was flawless until 40k, I mean flawless. After that, total POS. I had 3!! HPFP replaced in 9k miles. The VANOS unit went out on the intake side at 49.5k miles and BMW voided my warranty citing the downpipes and the fmic as the reason for it going out. I traded the car and made my broken BMW and it's $2k bill their problem...sales and service guys didn't talk and I got a good deal. I won't be back for quite a while.

did you buy the car new from BMW? if so then go lemon the car- though the california law states problems have to start in the first 18 months or 18000 miles, according to many lemon lawyer websites, as long as the problems start during the new car warranty period, you are fine and can lemon the car- get your down payment and payments back less a usage fee per mile

yea, my dealership was blaming my aftermarket DCI for a "no boost" issue I had for over a week. I was literally driving the car around for a week without boost! took her in and they said "oh, the computer is putting at your intakes so if u return it bak to stock it should be fine." i did that and they come back and say "you had an aftermarket exhaust, we'll that's the problem now, so if that's the case, we may hav to charge you for the service we perform because you filed lemon law claim on this vehicle and bmwna may not want to buy your e92 back"

a week later, the problem was solved siting "vacuum hose for turbo wastegate accumulator coming apart confirmed complaint. short test performed. dme had fault #30FF turbocharger, charge-air pressure too low-charge-air pressure too low. freq 14 times....."found that the vacuum hose to the wastegate accumulator was leaking."

everything they said to me about my intake and then my exhaust being the root of all my problems was total bs and i'm glad my attorney came thru for me after all was said and done.
