I'm partial to BMS and the jb4. Ive used their products for more than 3 years. I have never been disappointed and Terry's customer service is absolutely legendary. It seems both the JB4 and Proceede are pretty equal in terms of performance.

I'm kicking arround the idea of picking up a proceede from shiv for some independent testing, but I don't have the time and don't feel like blowing the cash on separate dyno visits. A dyno is one of the most accurate ways to test, but it'll only be a fair comparison if each tune has been given time to adapt and all other factors are equal. Back to back pulls may favor the first tune due to heat soak or it may favor the second due to adaptation.

I'd imagine the Procede V5 is a better tune to run with the DCT, especially since it includes torque management to keep the clutch heat/wear under control.

I really want to drive a tuned DCT car to see how it compares with my Steptronic. I was impressed with the M-DCT in my friend's M3.

When i say back to back i mean i will unstrap the car from the dyno and drive it around 20-30 minutes with some WOT pulls to let it adapt again.

I had JB3 in the past and preferred procede over it. but at that time i relied more on the butt dyno and proceed just felt smoother. I will give each tune a fair shot.

Most likely my buddy with the 135i n54 will also try out both tunes on the dyno. So we will run the comparison in both cars and split the dyno costs.

To answer EnjoixE92, active autowerkes tune isnt even being considered, its way behind the ball and to be honest as a local all of the experience i've had with talking to them has been crappy so i'm not going to be buying any parts from them anytime soon.

The DCT really is amazing.
Torque management isn't magic specific to the Procede. The JB4 does the same thing. There's no need for separate/specific maps on the JB4 (unlike the Procede) because it detects your transmission automatically. One of Terry's personal/test cars has DCT and I was just talking with him yesterday about DCT shifting.

Edit: See the link in my sig. I posted a youtube vid of my car running the latest map 5 - DCT in Manual mode & with the sport button on. If all goes as planned, I'll put in some race gas and test map 6 tomorrow nite. Stay tuned.

You nailed it.
I did hear from a few people that the procede was smoother before (although I never felt the JB3 wasn't smooth). Ive never driven a V5 car. Supposedly the JB4 is now comparable. If you do end up testing both, post over on n54tech too. Its a bit less volatile over there.

It's basically an N54 M-sport 335i with the option for DCT and it has more cooling features, and a louder factory exhaust. It also has way too many badges. BMW NA should just be like the rest of the EU and offer a regular 335i with DCT like the one you have.

If you get the sunroof, does it throw off the centre of gravity for the car. If so how does this effect the car in performance? Is it really worth it not to get the sunroof?

if center of gravity + ETC @#$%^ is that important for you, why dont you buy M3?
My answer is maybe it will effect 0.01 seconds of your average record.

Just picked up a new Crimson Red IS yesterday. I'm very happy with it so far. Anything I should be aware of or any mods that should be done right off the bat with the car? I'm in the progress of sourcing a clear bra installer so I can get that out of the way.

Beautiful, let's see some pics! First things first, get rid of the orange reflectors!

IS owners, how many of you actually debadged your "335IS" on the back? on the side? Both? Just curious because I keep debating on doing it.

I'm blacking mine out. I'm almost done with the exterior. Vorsteiner diffusor, 4 inch black chrome tips from Cyba, BMW performance spoiler. Bbs lm reps, nitto invo tires and H&R race springs with koni shocks. Pretty much done.
