2a98 3100 2a82 timing camshaft sprocket or bearing ledges?

hi

2a98 = dme: crankshaft-inlet camshaft reference

3100=dme: boost-pressure control, deactivation

2a82= dme:vanos intake

I've been trying to resolve this issue for a while now and need help at this point.

I was getting all kinds of codes of misfire on cylinders and the car would stall I would get an engin malfunction indication on the main gps screen and a half engine
I even got rid of my jb4

I've changed the spark plugs and the black thing that goes on top I forget the name
fixed my misfire codes

checked the oil cap it was fine

changed cam intake sensor

changed vvt vanos solenoid intake as to code 2a82

the car drove nice for about 5 min then the car stalled engin malfunction came on again codes came back

at this point my mechanic said to bring it to dealer but can't spend that kind of $ on an '08 335 coupe

from reading on this forum it sounds like I need to change the camshaft bearing ledge

but another mechanic that is specialized in bmw (not dealer) says its the intake camshaft sprocket that came loose or a screw came out or broke
and even said not to turn the car on anymore

what do you think?

I would like to fix this myself and was wondering if its possible without the sprocket alignment tool

any suggestions or insight

thx

-change oil and send sample to lab
-make sure you replace the little o-ring
-clean or replace the return oil Vanos valves
If fault returns after this and oil sample show metal wear then is the ladges.
If fault returns but oil sample is ok probably timing issue as 2nd tech suggested

Something inside the timing ledges or sprocket had to be messed up
