HPFP Warranty For 2007 335i
Hey guys, so recently my hpfp took a dump on my 2007 335i and I've been looking around to get some quotes. I called a dealership and I told them I needed a new hpfp along with the blower motor wiring recall done and they informed me that if they diagnose the car and find out the hpfp is the issue, then it will be replaced for free, otherwise they'll charge me $195 for the diagnostic if the hpfp is not the issue.
This has me a bit confused because I called other dealerships and they informed me that since 10 years has past, my car is not eligible for the extended warranty (107k miles on the car). I'm having my car towed to the dealership tomorrow morning so we'll see if they honor it. I guess my question is, are there any n54 owners out there who have had the hpfp replaced by dealers for free after 10 years? Should I be worried that they won't honor the free hpfp replacement? *I realized after posting that this isn't a good subforum for this topic, can mods move it to the technical forum?* |

I doubt they will.
It's a 10year/120k mile warranty and they're not in the business of losing money. I wouldn't even waste my time and would find a used one online and replace it myself. |

Did the dealership that said it would be free know the age and mileage of the car? If yes, I'd go there and hold them to it. Do you remember who you spoke to? Talk to the same person again when you schedule the appointment, and remind them of what they said.

I called the dealership before I towed my car there just to confirm the appointment, and I talked to a service advisor who said the other advisor I spoke to had mistaken and that they weren’t going to honor it. It was really frustrating, car was on the tow bed ready to go but I’m glad I called. I ended up doing what Miller335i said and bought a used one for $150 and just installed it myself today.
