Front Wing has a slight crack in it

I noticed today that me front wing has a slight crack in it starting from the wheel arch and going upwards I did not realise that the wings are plastic! Any ideas?

I am sure you are correct and that they are plastic.But when i asked my dealer when i bought my E90 he didnt know .

Renault and Citroen have been doing this for years, but they are somewhat squishier than BMW bits.

Yes, plastic wings. Apart from being lighter, it also means the designers can put more complex creases at the end of the swage line - something that would be nigh on impossible with steel pressings.

All Coupe's 2006 onwards have plastic wings.

No saloons have them. Only the E92.

probably cheaper to get a new wing , have it sprayed and then bolt it on.

I doubt it would be cheaper.

Also then the cars had a panel which it didnt actually need. Depends how big the crack is.

I got a quote last week to repair my mum's Renault Magane, the front wing has a crack in it and the paint scraped where it had an incident with a lamp post. They glue/fill the crack and put a reinforcing patch behind. Total was £120+vat including painting from chipsaway. They were happy to do a deal for cash too.

Well I am off to dealers tomorrow to see if can get done under warranty so wish me luck!! They will prob say some one has bashed into it. try and get out of it.

Well I went to my dealer and they had a look at the front wing and said it was due to a minor bumber reapir that had been done before and not lining up bumper and wing correctly. So cant do under warranty but have agreed to do some other bit and pieces under warranty and surgested that I go back to who did the work. luckly when I got the car I have a invoice from the dealer with reapair bumper scuff on so I will be having a chat with them.

I got a call from customer services today saying my car did not have a repair done there So when I said I have a invioce for this along with the AUC Went very quite and will call me back. The excuse was that she spoke to a service advisor and he advised her wrong service manager is now dealing with it.
