Burning oil smell

Okay so I just bought this car (06 325i 111k miles) and took it to the local shop for an oil change and tranny flush. I've noticed an intermittent burning smell coming in the cabin but more prevalent under the hood.
Now I am fully aware of the Valve Gasket Cover as I owned an e46 and had it replaced but I'm not so sure it's that.
The smell was there before I took it in but not as bad. Seems it's gotten worse. No loss of oil and def not leaking. Possibly it could be the mech dripped some oil on the engine but who knows.
Question is, have anyone of you noticed the smell after an oil change in these cars? They also did a pre inspection before I bought it and they are pretty reputable.

Thanks guys!

sounds like spilled oil during the change. Clean and check any leak points, most importantly make sure there is no oil on or around the belt. Check after a good drive to insure there are no leaks. If that's all good, I'd give it a week before I start to worry. Don't forget to make sure they tightened down your oil caps as well.
