2009 Ducati Monster 696

Hey fellow forum members,

So I just purchased my first bike! Very excited. I was looking at sport bikes in the 600cc range. Specifically a Honda CBR. However, I came across an awesome deal on a 2009 Ducati Monster 696. Beautiful bike, great deal. 3400 miles. Not a scratch on the paint. It's such a nice ride. Very fast, loads of power and torque when you need it. I love the upright comfortable seating position. It's a blast to ride. That 695cc Vtwin is awesome! It looks sexy as hell and it's engineered like an Italian. Hand built, all the bolts have a line of paint to show that they are secure and haven't moved. It handles very sporty and I'm loving every minute of riding her! She is an excellent addition.

She is my Italian mistress named Giulia! I'd like you all to meet her!

I think she'll go well w/ my German girls!

Very sweet. Congrats. A buddy of mine just bought a new Harley and he's thinking of selling his special edition Monster (He's got a VFR too). You've now inspired me to consider buying his.

So has Ducati done anything to prevent the gas tank swelling issue due to Ethanol contamination?

Harley is on brink of sinking into the abyss unless the Chinese bail em out, the sooner they go the better, shit bikes.

Nice Ducatti, was just at dealer in Chicago, they are sold out for 3 months. The new Triumph Speed Triple is nice too...

Congrats on the bike. I used to own 2 R6's and in my opinion nothing compares to the fun and exhilaration of riding a bike. Enjoy and be safe.

I just picked up a ''09 yamaha fz6r but I was considering the monster but eventually shyed away due to their high cost of maintenance.

Be safe out there.

Harley has that America culture status to it. Definitely think about buying it, you won't regret it!

wow 3 months? Yeah speed trips are nice but I'd consider a Daytona 675 before a speed trip.

I don't think maintenance will be too bad as this is the entry level bike. Next service isn't till 7k miles or so. it's worth it though I'd say.

Hey man, I wasn't trying to start a war discussion on Harleys. I own a Honda Valkyrie Interstate anyway. I laugh when the HOGs on Electraglides try to keep up.

While I was out riding once I heard a guy refer to Harley as Hardly Motorcycle.

I believe that was only a problem on the older Monsters

1098 would be nice! I think my next bike will be a Streetfighter but they are so damn expensive!

Found it on craigslist, originally bought from Fast by Ferraci in Pennsylvania. it's a 2009 w/ 3300 miles for $6,500.

I'm thinking of that one, Termi's are too expensive and not the sound I want. I took the cans off and ran is straight midpipe and damn did it sound good!! Loud as hell, louder than most other bikes! Sounds like a MONSTER!
