Help with tires...

So, I need to buy 2 new front tires, 225 / 45 / 17s... I'm reading reviews on several tires, but there is always people that love and people that hate each tire / brand...

Can you guys please share any recommendations ? Including if you know a place with good prices ?

Also, I have sport / summer tires right now, is the grip difference too great from summer to all seasons ? I'm just a daily driver, no tracking so far...

My concerns are 1-Price 2-Grip/Braking 3-Noise level... don't care much about rain and I have snows for the winter. Thread wear doesn't bother me at all.

Thanks

Hankook Ventus V12 - people jerk off to these tyres on this forum. Cheap, lotsa lotsa lotsa grip. Check out Simply Tire.. ask for Allen or Tire23.

17" should come dirt cheap.

Car and Driver have a summer tire test in their latest issue. I don't think it's online (for free, anyway) but it's in the print edition. (Also they used e92s for testing!). Maybe someone can scan it or something. Short summary: they chose the Michelin Pilot Super Sport as best overall using a wide variety of factors.

If price is biggest concern, Hankook Ventus R-S3 was 4th out of 9 (2nd cheapest) and Continental ExtremeContact DW was 5th (cheapest tire tested).

Michelin super sports

Reading info,

Are they better then the former PS2 ,, yes, why, second gear I can actually hook whereas with ps2 nope still squealing, and were talking 400+whp on a peg leg, once they are warm I am confident, first gear, nope nothing helps except half throttle.
And FYI third gear in colder weather with ps2 sent my car sideways. Can't wait to test with these in November.

+1, PSS are on a whole new level in comparison to Ps2's.

Based on your priorities you posted above it sounds like the Vredestein's are your choice. The PSS are way out of your price range. AFAIC, the Vreds compare to the the Michelin's in every category and last much longer. Talk to Al@Simply.

+1. Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's are a hidden gem comparable in performance to the PS2's. I've had mine on for a few months now and love them. Many M3 owners are satisfied with them as well switching from PS2's:

There's also a strong following with Vette and Porsche owners.
