That's awesome! There are some pros and cons to the proposed routes. From a pure driving perspective, that's perfect. The vast majority of the area covered is waaaay out in the middle of nowhere (Good for driving/cops. Bad for attractions. Potentially bad for fuel availability). The east coast is hugely more populated and a lot more to do, but obviously not as good as the west purely from a driving perspective, for the same reason. Anywhere around the west/central area would be a reeeeally expensive place for anyone to break down if it required a tow. Personally, I'd go Devonport-Burnie-Queenstown-Hobart in 1 less day than proposed if possible, which would buy you another day to take your time in Hobart and/or going back up via east coast (because the highway from Hobart to Devonport is boring AF).

Yeah quite remote areas so thats why i'm recommending people bring along extra fuel, i'm guessing even 98 could be harder to find out there too? I'd say its a good time to proactively change out the water pump then!

Any ideas for stops along the east coast? Looks like the drive along the coast could easily fit in one day.

Have you sussed out accommodation and rest points in Tassie yet?

My boss is going to be away during the trip, I'll see what I can do to get time off work and come

Still need to work out the actual places for accomodation but the route links have approximately where we will be staying. Still need to work out each stop but theres plenty to see on the routes chosen. Plenty of time to sort it out, just the ferry needs to be booked as soon as possible.

Night stops:
Friday night - Spirit of Tasmania
Saturday night - queenstown
Sunday night - Great lake
Monday night - Hobart
Tuesday Night - Spirit of Tasmania

Mostly driving but will be stopping at scenic spots and attractions along the way.

Opportunities for photos and stuff, might bring along some food so we can do some bbqs as well.

Alright, so we are happy with the dates and seems like we have enough interest for a trip.

We are looking to book asap, deadline will be 1st of Oct for ferry bookings. Will be organising the accommodation and stopoffs in the next couple weeks or so.
