General G-max AS-03 brief review request
Anyone have the General G-max tires mounted in 255-225 18 inch sizes with a lot of miles on them that could give me a quick review?
I had some on my Infiniti a couple of years ago and the fronts started making a howling noise with about 60% tread left. I finally just replaced them. They were an odd size though (225/50-18) and I haven't seen any complaints like that on Tire Rack. I recently got some style 197's I'm going to put on my e90 and am trying to decide on tires. thanks... |

Same question as the OP about the General G Max AS 03, these were presented as a option by the tire shop I use. Does anyone have any experience with them, good or bad?
I'm running 235/35 R19 in the front and 265/30 R19 in the rear and looking at these for an everyday commute, not performance driving. |

Beauty, I'm looking for the good everyday tire, not overly concerned with the 1/4 mile. Thanks!

I have them in 225/40/18 fronts and 255/35/18 rears...tires are good for price and have long treadwear life. Have about 25k miles on mine and they look like they have another 25k left in them...great for a DD but they are starting to get noisy :/

These tires are pretty new and the first ones didn't arrive until mid 2011. Just be sure that if you thought you had them on a car a few years ago that you're thinking of the same tire.
That being said, early feedback from customers has been very good and testing data has also been great on this tire. Test : http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...&affiliate=FH8

These perform pretty well, but I've heard from some of my customers that they are not exactly the quietest tire. They could be sensitive to the noise levels though.
Overall they get pretty good marks.

I ran these on my Audi and preformed fairly well. Just noisy as can be.

Funny that nobody answered this when I posted it but lots of responses since it got zombied 5 months later. I sold that E90 auto and bought an E92 manual that had fairly new michelin ps2 run flats so my tire purchase is put off until some time this fall.
I definitely had these tires--I think we have had this exchange before Gary. :-) I drive 25 to 30 thousand miles a year so I go through lots of tires....I had used General Exclaim's UHP's before so I tried the g-max right when they were released. I have decided to stick to non directional tires if possible so that I can at least rotate them side to side as a possible remedy for noise. When I say they were loud on my Infiniti I mean they were so loud you had to yell to be heard inside the car at certain speeds....and this was the fronts with at least 40% tread left. |

Just put them on my car last week. 235/35-19 front 265/30-19 rears.
Coming off worn run flats one with a side wall issue, these are like butter even sizing up to 19's from 18's. That's just my one week opinion. |

I've had the General G-max AS-03 for a little over 12k miles. They're very noisy in my opinion, not extremely noisy but it's definitely noticeable.
