Besides OSS any other rings out there for e92?

I gave been wanting to go with Led rings. Problem is i can't find anywhere to buy rings beside the umitanza v4 which are 350+$ and some OSS brand that's also around that cost. Anyone of you fellow members that have done this find anything under 350$?

Is it just me, or does anybody else feel like the LED rings just look too aftermarket.

1) the OSS and other rings are just too narrow - they don't look like the new 3/5 series LED rings to me. I'd prefer if they used like a light pipe with a single LED lighting them continuously around the ring like the new BMWs. I've seen some vendors are working on some but don't see them readily available.

2) Even the V4s seem like I can still see the individual LEDs, look ricey to me.

3) I hate the yellow LED look when parked. Just screams 'aftermarket'.

Note: anybody try the Morimoto rings, they look inexpensive and at least solved the yellow LED issue, which I think is a big improvement. See link. I have no idea what they look like, but it's definitely a good brand.

The V4's only seem like that in pics, but in person it looks like one continuous light source (as opposed to seeing individual led's)

Maybe so, I may have never seen the V4s in person, but what I do see on E90s around here always look after-market.

For the price, I would think OSS or one of the other vendors could so something like this - they are doing for F30s. Also, they are doing similar retrofits for halogen F30s that look just as nice as OEM. If they had something like this for E90s, I'd send them my lights.

i seen that on a few e92 / m3 now. OSS has them. But they are very expensive.

Most these rings are the same. The way you install them seem to make the most difference. I want to do about 2-3 cars. thats why i don't want to spend 400$ on OSS or v2/v4 rings per car. Thats crazy, i think all this stuff is made in china like the ones they sell on ebay for 60$ .

If you can get it done cheap with same results i'm never against it lol. Some of the stuff on my car i got from ebay . If you do end up going this route definitely let us know how it is. I'm interested in how it'll turn out!

i got RGB rings from iJDMtoy for my car, installed and everything was perfect, except...

me and my friend installed it and we mounted the powerbox thing in the engine bay because the wiring wasn't long enough for anywhere else practical. the powerbox has warped from the heat after 1.5 weeks and im in contact with the supplier to get a new one sent to me (better fine somewhere to mount it or wrap it in something (any ideas?). Also we didn't seal the headlight properly and also didn't mount the LED's properly (they stick on to the stock AE's) so we took it apart again and did everything thoroughly. all the wires are still there, just waiting for another power thing to arrive and just have to plug everything back in.

and if these fail, i'll just get those lightwerkes rings or OSS ones, it was a good thing to try out first and just see what happens. meh, atleast I learnt something from it. I don't really want to ever go back to the stock AE's. After having these haha

also, one other thing with these is, they don't plug into the stock AE power because it's not 12v or something like that (my friend did most of the work, i just watched LOL) so it's plugged to the ignition so it gets powered when the cars on, only downside is they don't turn on when you unlock the car when walking up to it and you can't show off at meets with your car off. but i thought it was better than mounting straight to the battery because if i ever forget to turn them off after leaving the car (the sensor for the remote had to be mounted at the front of the car because the wire isn't long enough but we're tryna figure out a way to mount it to the inside somewhere) if we can mount it to the inside/windsheild I wouldn't mind have it plugged straight to the battery so I can turn them on and off whenever I want.

just my .02

I thought on the E92 headlights all you had to do was bake them again after you reassemble? No need for resealing or using any silicone, the stock adhesive reseals fine.

As for wiring, you should have been able to wire directly to the AE power.

Yeah we just sealed them back but when I washed the car, there was moisture inside and it started to fog up, used a new silicone to seal it this time and used a new glue/epoxy to mount the LED's.

I'm still figuring out if I should try get the power box from the seller, or if I should just get all new rings (lightwerkz). With the lightwerkz rings, do I need to take out the stock rings and mount them? and they plug straight into the AE power? If so, I might just do that as it's less hassle and easier to do (no power box that will melt zzzz)
