The Marathon Scion Detailing Session

Ladies and Gentlemen, this was a seriously dirty car.* Probably the dirtiest car I've ever worked on.* No, DEFINITELY the dirtiest car I've ever worked on.* To make this car perfect, I would normally need to have it on-site and work on it for two days.* That wasn't an option this time around.* This project was done at the client's apartment in just less than eight hours.* I barely had time to think during this one!

The Car: A 2004 Scion Xb.* Not my favorite car, as a detailer, you gotta love those big flat body panels.* Barely a curve on the car.

There was a family of rocks living in the wheel wells...

The paint was dull and had lots of, well, stuff on it.* Not sure if it had ever been waxed...ever.

Black plastic in bad shape.* Why are there ALWAYS pine needles stuck in cars?

Dirt.

More of the same.

Ugh

Suspicion confirmed.* No wax.

Getting the pine needles out.

The family of wheel well rocks is now homeless.

Showing improvement!* This is after washing, claying and polishing.

Hitting the interior with steam.

After sealant and wax!

After all was said and done, I was pretty happy with the results.* Ideally there would have been more paint correction, but this was a time trial.* The owner was blown away with the results.

Oh yes, turns out the car was GREEN.

It might just be me but I don't think you really have seen a dirty car. Once a friend showed up on my drive way with what used to be a Montego Blue BMW...... It was 100% covered with mud, salt and road grime after 3 consecutive ski trips.... now that car was dirty....

This car turned our real nice though.....

Yeah, our cars don't get too dirty down here. Lucky for me.

I thought the PT Cruiser was ugly but this thing is like a shoe box on wheels.

I agree, but the owner didn't want the tires to be dressed.
