Dinan Cold Air Intake Being Installed Today

Dropped my car off to the dealer this am and was grinding my teeth to do this upgrade. It was either spend $1100 on new video cards or get the Dinan upgrade. I liberated for like 2 hours at the BMW dealer and finally gave in but not without a fight on the labor cost thus saving me gass money from driving to another Dinan dealer (non BMW dealer) 30 miles away and car rental as I was given a loaner until they are finished with alignments and installing the cold Air intake.

Will report back when I get the car back

Wow! $1,100! For that kind of money I hope this thing sucks more than just air.

You will like it. Got mine in December. Besides power, it is really easy on the eyes. Just got the intercooler this week also. Believe I am done now...what next for you? : )

TischerBMW FTW! Much cheaper! Yes, I got mine installed a while back last year at Tischer. Love it! Best CAI out there. Real CAI that doesn't suck in hot air, and installs over the stock box. Very nice indeed.

Next on the list in their order

Free Flow Exaust
Intercooler
Oil Cooler
Dinan S3 software ( if able to be backed up on Cobb's AP)

I will be rolling with Cobb's AP as soon as they support 07.

Basically the whole enchilada, for Dinan anyway. I'm thinking about going to the dyno in the next couple weeks to see what the S2, CAI, and FMIC are putting out in my car. Sure is a fun drive.

I would have prefered that you pick up a dual cone intake and floored it down the highway throwing fist fulls of twenties out the window............................................ ............... You would gotten more bang for your buck

hmmmm.... would like to see how bad you would get stomped on by someone with:

DCI
Stock (or non-dinan) exhaust
BigTom Intercooler
Universal Oil Cooler
JB4 or Procede

All for about the price you paid for your Intake

Not hatin' but Its hard for me to see the rationale behind buying an Intake box that costs as much as 2-3 months of car payments. Ahh to each his own..

I would say the Dinan intake is the only Dinan thing that I would spend money on. It's expensive, but until another manufacturer copies this great idea, it's either Dinan or Mr. 5

Why waste our time with drivel like this?

Just let me know when your there so I can start heading that way.

Traffic was really tight getting home so I was not able to actually open up on the road. I do know one thing though the choppy acceleration is gone, I now have completely smooth acceleration.

Going to movies tonight with wife later when the roads are clear. Will be back later.

Mr. 5 and I agree: Dinan COLD air intake - not dual cone hot air intake - is the best on the market.

Very sweet. I have Dinan Stage 2 in mine right now and seriously considering the Cold Air as well. Let us know how it runs. I have the factory Oil Cooler on mine and it seems to do the job well so far.

BuraQ,

don't pay attention to the haters. The DINAN intake is perhaps the best designed intake for our cars. Granted, it is extremely overpriced, but it is still the best design out there!
