Detailed A Motorcycle

This was my first serious motorcycle detailing. I have to admit that it was a hell of a lot more difficult than I would have expected. Everything comes off, and dirt is EVERYWHERE. It usually takes me about 12 hours to do a detail on a regular sized car. This bike took me 10 hours.

The Subject:

The overall condition of the paintwork was good. There were some minor scratches and swirls, but for the most part, it was in good shape when it arrived.

I removed all of the painted panels so that I could clean them, and clean under them. This was very difficult. Honda seems to have put the screws in places where the employment of ferrets would suffice to remove them.

Under the panels is where most of the dirt lived.

After steam cleaning and de-greasing the guts, things were looking much better:

All of the panels were then washed, clayed, cleansed and washed again before they were put back on the bike:

After I re-attached all the panels, I used Zaino Z-2 to seal the paint and deepen the shine. After two coats of the Z-2, I hand massaged a coat of Dodo Juice Supernatural.

Depends on how you define paint correction I suppose. The customer did not opt to have it machine polished because there wasn't really a need for it.
I would say that the claying, cleansing and Z-2 was all the paint correction it needed.
Good thing too, because this would have been a PITA to machine polish.
