my new office

so i've been with the company 2 weeks, and they already gave me my own office! it's obviously pretty messy, but i'm hoping to rearrange it and put some silk plants in to liven it up a little bit.

Where the servers at? Are you guys mainly on a Windows based environment? I used to be in an office like that but I moved into a "regular" one lol.

They could've at least gave you a comfy chair. You need some kinda back support and butt padding.

the server is that big black thing sticking out by my luxurious desk chair. but let's keep it positive here...when it's winter, the pbx box will keep me warm.

edit: yes, windows based environment. migrating old hardware running server 2003 to new hardward running SBS 2008. they use quickbooks and various other programs that are all windows-based.

So it's not a big environment? Last year, towards the end of the year/beginning of this year, we migrated everything to Server 2008 and migrated our exchange to 07. That shit took so long man, I was in there day/night/weekends.

fortunately for me, they aren't running exchange yet, that's makes my job much easier. the old server was setup by a chimp and literally is about as secure as paris hilton's virginity.

old hardware: dell dual 1ghz xeon with 1gb ram. went down daily. shit is ancient.

Haha, my laptop has more processing power. Exchange isn't that hard, it's not bad really if you've had some experience with it. 03 was bullet proof though, I'm not a fan of 07.

We just spent 20g's upgrading our storage so that's another project. We're so understaffed.

Paris Hiltons virginity is the securest thing she has. Nobody has been able to find it for years.
