Just called the 1-800 number this morning because production was scheduled to be completed yesterday. The message was "Your vehicle production is complete and is waiting to be released to the carrier." I wonder if that means I'm already waiting for a ship? I assume it means waiting for the train to Bremerhaven?

What do you think, 160 status? 180 status?
160 - Released to distribution
180 - Waiting for export dispatch

BK...ahhh we're moving along nicely.

Actually that sounds more like:

190 - Released to Distribution, Awaiting Transport to Port of Exit (Bremenhaven)

Next steps are:

193 - Arrived at Port of Exit (Bremerhaven), Awaiting transport - no shipping details
194 - Selected for shipment, at Port of Exit
195 - Shipped from Port of Exit
196 - Shipment arrival - ETA

FYI my car took 25 days to arrive at Passport from that stage. Note: that included a hop to S. Carolina as I had cancelled PCD mid-voyage. Took 20 days to be reach Charleston.

Wishing you a speedy voyage

P.S. don't forget the lag in information timeliness. I'd suggest you start a ship tracking thread to maintain your sanity while you wait for your car to cross...

edit: numbers were all wrong

Thanks, Donny! I will keep you posted. The wait is a killer, particularly as I foresee the arrival date getting closer and closer to my wife's due date. Unless it gets on a ship within the next couple of days, I expect I won't be able to do a Performance Center Delivery. Not a huge disappointment, but unfortunate. I was looking forward to the ride back from SC as much as the PCD experience. Maybe I'll have to head out to the Shenandoah Mountains right when I pick up the car instead.

Yes, you heard it right. The new E90 will get here just in time for my wife to go into labor and have me to speed her to the hospital in it. I may have to break the "keep it below 4000 RPMs" rule if that's the case! Actually, I'd take the Accord in that case. I wouldn't want her water to break in the new car (and ouch - that sport suspension might be painful for a woman in labor!).

In all seriousness, the baby will be our second, so I'm much less nervous this time around. I'm more worried about the car coming before her due date!

on the sport suspension and breaking in remark

Do keep us posted on both of your upcoming deliveries...that's gonna be one heck of a month for you

The OC website has now updated to "Awaiting Transport." Given that it lags behind a few days from what's really happening, is there some way to tell if I've gotten on a ship? I'll be checking every day.

I'll search the threads, too, but I seem to recall some reference to a shipping website where you can enter your VIN and it will tell you what ship you're on. Maybe I'm dreaming that, though? Do I need to call Peter to find out if I'm on a ship (and which one)?

Wow. Just... wow.

Hey, I still need to see your new E92 M3.

Here's something random -- sometime within the last week, a squirrel or something must have crawled up into my engine bay and ripped a big hole in the sound insulation under my hood.

OCD that I am, I cleaned everything thoroughly and have been checking it every day (no change since Saturday). I also looked for any other signs of gnawing (on wires, hoses, belts) but didn't see anything. I ordered a new sound insulation piece and fasteners from Tischer and I'll be putting the new one on. A sad day in the history of my now-two-plus-year-old E90, but what can you do.

Never found him. I'm guessing squirrel because I've seen them climb up into the wheel wells before. Could have been a mouse or something. No cooked squirrel or mouse that I can find anywhere in the engine bay, though.
