What's a good forum to go research mods on these bad boys? I have one on order and want to see what's available (intake, exhaust, suspension)

I agree. I remember that with older american cars you could spend a little and throw some magnaflows or other inexpensive exhaust and release a lot more hp for the buck compared to a $600 Trust/Greddy exhaust on an integra GSR to get at most 10hp. That's why I put NOS in my pos accord back in the day. sorry that was off topic. lol

I drove it and walked away pretty happy, but w/ the dealer in the car I couldn't really take the turns the way I wanted. My impression was that it felt like I was sitting on top of the car vs my z4m or even my e90, but nonetheless it provided decent feedback(better than c6 z06: flame suit on) on the streets at least. engine felt/sounded much better than any stock ls1,2,3,7 that I've heard/drove. The power was so much more progressive than the ls* variants on/off switch

I understand that this will keep up or even beat an m3 on the track, but my question is how is the feedback at the limits, b/c even a z06 is of no use to me, b/c it just feels too rubbery and confidence sapping. I'd love to get a track review or even better yet some track time in one

They are impressive platforms as they have already hit low 11's w/just boltons and 10's w/ bolton s/c's. Something an HPF m3 has yet to accomplish or even a s/c m3

I may pick one up used in the future once all the hype has settled...I was stupid enough to pay a 10k premium to get a 300srt8 when they first came out...never again

[QUOTE=krnnerdboy;8124946]I drove it and walked away pretty happy, but w/ the dealer in the car I couldn't really take the turns the way I wanted. I drove a manual 5.0 gt and it was fast but it was kinda boring IMO. It could be a lot more exciting with exhaust and headers and all that but then again that is a completely different kind of car than a BMW. I would definitely be down to have a alarm inducing 5.0 for the weekends but probably wouldn't have one for a DD. The new Ford sync/nav setup was really impressive though if you did want one for a DD..

And onto the quote above, I am not sure how you drove a z06 and could compare it to the GT. Feedback? that is an insane quote in my opinion. The mustang was extremely fast but nothing compared to a head stuck to the headrest z06. That car was scary fast and it was the first car i had learned to fearfully respect due to the insane amount of power. the weight and power made you question how easily you could send yourself flying off the road.

Never once had any of those thoughts in the GT. Actually it was more of "this car is probably too powerful for that "interesting" rear suspension set up".

And now pops decided to get a zr1 but seriously driving it is sort of just nerve racking. I would lose my license with that car.

Always an opinion just thought i would share.
