Let us know how it goes.

Rob is pretty good at responding to e-mails, and I'm sure he will figure out the problem once he finds a car with this issue. At the end, this is still a beta version for our models so I can't complain, especially with this level of customer service.

So we have BMR335, michael1284, erensf and lawwailok. I wonder what's common among our cars that's different from all other 2007s that didn't have any issues.

No clue, it was the charger they had at Helix (a tuning shop here in philly). I should get around to buying my own for the garage though I guess...

I am guessing there are more of us lucky 2007 guys. Otherwise we would hear more complaints. Mine was built in June 2007 and I had no problems flashing.
  • I have comfort access and put the key in the ignition just in case.
  • I also have Bluetooth and moved my cell as far away as possible from the car to avoid any potential disruptions.
  • Started the flash through an open window and came back after 20 mins.
These are just precautions that I took, that may have not helped in any way, but worth a try if you have those features.

Hi guys,

First off, I would like to sincerely apologize to any user who is experiencing difficulties or has been inconvenienced in any way. There are currently a small segment of 2007 vehicles that experience communications issues during the installation process when using our beta 2007 support. We are currently investigating the cause but have been unable to pinpoint the issue.

Since getting the first reports, we have been unable to reproduce the issue on our in-house 2007 335i. We've continued attempting to reproduce on 4 separate customer vehicles, all of which completed the installation process...which is a of course good thing but hasn't been helpful for finding out what the issue is

We have an appointment with a vehicle in the Dallas area on 4/21. We hope to definitively diagnose and solve the issue based on that testing.

We will happily extend the 30 day satisfaction guarantee for as long as necessary for anyone who is unable to complete the installation or uninstallation process. Again, I'm very sorry for the hassle this has caused for anyone and very much appreciate everyone's patience. Thank you to those who have reported the issue as well, this is exactly why our initial release was done as beta and we look forward to fully resolving it.

Best regards-
Lance

Lance I will take you up on your offer for the extra 30 day satisfaction guarantee. I still have about 3 weeks and to be honest I'm on the fence about returning it, the only thing holding me back it I can't seem to uninstall it from my car. I get an error, so I'm pretty much stuck with it for now. you guys are more than welcome to take a look at my car if you guys have a place for me to go locally near socal or if there is a way for me to log something, video or if Cobb has a install log function built in I can send it. I know you guys have been on top of the product since day one and we all greatly appreciate it. I hope this gets resolved soon.

I'm also more than happy to loan you the car for a week if need be.

Thanks,
Jorge

i'm a man of my word.......

2 or 3 weeks after Cobb released 07 software, i jumped on the bandwagon.

today i drove 3 hours from Houston to Austin to get my AP installed by Rob - who is one of the nicest people i have had the pleasure of meeting.

graphs will be up in another thread in about 45 minutes.

Thanks! I'm really glad to hear Rob will get the chance to see the issue first-hand...hopefully we'll get a resolution then. I did want to reiterate how professional and responsive Rob and the rest at Cobb have been in keeping me informed of what's going on, so I'm encouraged that those of us with this issue will soon be all tuned up.

Looks like all of the 1% error problems have happened on 6MT cars.

My error happens after the AP has downloaded 3% of the stock ECU to the AP unit, so it has not uploaded any percent of the COBB map yet. The car still works just fine once you unplug the unit, though with the AP you can see (and erase) quite a few codes that are thrown during the aborted install process.

I have the exact same problem.. Cobb said they are looking into the issue, only a few cars have been erroring out like this. I hope they find a solution for us!

I can rule that out right now and say no. I have a July 2006 build date and have had absolutely no problems installing the AP.

If you have any experts / engineers in the NYC area, I would be happy to meet and have them work on installing it in my car. As we discussed, I get the 3% stock map -> AP error
