Xdrive failure???
Guys...I turned on the car after driving it to work this morning and got the below lights. After reading the manual it shows X-drive failure as the 4x4 and the DSC failure as well as low brakes...has any one had this happen? Is this going to cost me an arm and a leg or is it a simple fix?

try this?
If your car was sitting for a while, start the car and turn the steering wheel while at stop all the way to the left and then all the way to the right, that should re-calibrate your wheels and remove the error. if it doesn't, remove the battery for 24 hours, install it and try again. |

How long have you been running with that setup? I've been trying to see if these awd problems have been attributed by the staggered wheels.

What's going on with your fuel? You have 90 miles to empty, but the fuel gauge tach is past the empty mark and you're driving 9 MPH with the ebrake on at 800 RPM!?

@Zipstic I have a JB4, the fuel gauge is my boost gauge, so I wasn't running boost. I was just rollin in traffic. The BRAKE light was part of the problem! haha |

always pull chip prior to visit!
These lights came on when my battery went dead. Also staggered wheels on AWD are a big NO NO, UNLESS you have the rolling diameter with 1%, if not I bet you fried that sucker.

Had the same problem, thought it was the steering angle sensor as well, but it was the motor on the transfer case that proportions the f/r torque bias. Bought a spare transfer case on ebay (was less than everyone else wanted for the motor alone) and installed it in five minutes and all has been well since then.

Turns out it was some kind of hardware failure that controls the steering sensor??? causing the problem. After a week they resolved it and now my steering feels like a brand new car!
I will grab the paper work and get the exact problem name/cause/parts they replaced if anyone is interested... And as far as the staggered wheels go...I'm under the impression that the stock 18" sport wheel package is 8.5 front and 9.5 rear....those are the tires sizes i went with any way! |
