Should we stick to our down home pot luck routine or should we try a outside-catered-everyone-pays-x-amount approach?

pot luck is best. i like to eat a bunch of different things from different cultures, and a catered meal probably won't do it for me. we're so diverse on this board that we'd have a ton of food

I say stick to the same place too, although having it in MD would be nice.
