- = < ( ( 2011 The Year in Review ) ) > = -

2011.
Twenty Eleven.
Two Thousand Eleven.
However you say it, there is one thing for sure- what a year it was!!

I honestly do not even know where to begin; the level of work, workload, projects and art that came out of this shop this year was unmatched and truly uncanny. Dream team collaborations, national recognition, print magazine and international web features are just some of the unbelievable things we here at MAC have experienced in 2011.

January 2011 started much as 2010 ended- repairing BMW's as only we can.
Aluminum front structure replacement E60:

Then the good vs evil builds began making some waves:

Project Hammanal AKA the MONSTR first reared her head soon after:

Then came the BLIZZARDS. What felt like one ass kicking after the next- literally FEET on top of FEET of snow fell in the NE. No one was open, no one left their house, and the roads were impassable. Oh yeah, except for MAC!

The snow brought back some Alpine White:

1/20/11 brought some SWAG into our lives:

February 2011 brought us closer to our artistic side, with collaborations with famous hip-hop inspired artist Rashaad Newsome:

Then... another 24"s:

The introduction of the first BIMMERSTOCK Calendar:

The Strikeforce signed MAC sponsored MMA fighter Gian Vilante:

MAC built M6 makes it onto the WWE:

Jerry brought in his life sized restoration project:

February 2011 we announced MAC was now one of only 200 certified Mercedes Benz shops in the USA:

Winter brings hibernation for larger then life creatures:

March brought with it another collabo; this time with D2Forged. Official press release:

The 6th delivered 2012 A8 in the USA came in for some MAClovin'

Swagzilla leaves us, for the first time:

MONSTR (MAC/ ADV1 collabo) leaves us, for the first time:

A good friend and client asks us to pick up his new R8 from the dealership and "have my way with it"

Spring brings citrus punch:

We were asked to display some of our work at the UFC fight in NJ 3/11. The UFC doesn't have to ask twice:

I'm pretty sure I could take Banter weight Champ Dominick Cruz:

Why 5-0 be hatin'?!?

Starting in April, there was a LOT of screwing around:

There comes a time when you need to stop the screwing:

Maybe time to start screwing again:

BMW seemed to like our idea of "Frozen Silver(stone)" and start making it themselves. It's cool; imitation is the highest form of flattery:

We also picked up two brand new M3s from the dealer, just to then take them apart:

And with that, started the Active Autowerke / MAC collaboration that would be hailed by many to be THE builds of the year:

Along that same time, we were asked if we would present again at the NY International Show. After checking our calendar we said, "um, fugg yes". And brought out all the big guns- including Power105's DJ Norie:

The 2011 NYIAS brought the unveiling of Mean Green and The Chop Top:

How'd this slip in there?

May came, and in with it a LP Roadster project. Heck even Lambos need a lil updating sometimes!

Another lil project we managed to sneak in... Worlds first fire orange e90:

The Rallye Motorsport Show was a success, 3 for 4 I believe; I told Joe we need something old in the fleet!!

Then it was Mikey's turn to win some shows:

June brought Bimmerfest, in California, and the MAC built AA Reventon grey M3 hurt feelings:

Followed soon after by MAC being featured by the PPG Reporter magazine:

Formula Drift in Miami with the boys from ADV.1:

Not all show biz- another M6 Grav repair!

We then started a "little" Thursday night meet:

By the end of June, it was already insanity:

Turning out Lambos like nathan!!

We also started messing with this thing... called HPF

The "perfect storm" builds continued to bring car porn to the masses:

...and then we cut up another M6

In July Joe decided to show the Viper Club what a M3 could do:

We also got the cover of Car Buzz:

July also had some sadness as we lost our friend Bishnu. Bish had said not too long before his death that Thursday Nights in Glen Cove were his favorite meets ever. We then dedicated it to his honor.

RIP BISH

Does everyone know we also do Ferraris?

One of our first frozen cars came back for some more:

Then the now famous "Shade of M" video dropped.... sorry again to the comp:

August brought with it the cover of Bimmerpost!!

Project White Lightning stage one was completed. She's just returned (ninjas ain't ready for 2012)

Adrienne gave me something to think about in the shower:

Peeps were still gettin' blown at MAC

Vorsteiner then crowned us the King of M3s on their website:

Did I mention we were doing meets on Thursdays?

The Chop Top started attracting suitors; first came HRE:

September brought some excitement with the third annual Bimmerstock bringing some 700+ cars to the City of Glen Cove and the 100% charity show raised nearly $60,000.00 for the Diabetes Research Institute!!

Another one for the record books. How do you top this? Answer: you don't. MAC. ADV1. Enzo. Game over thanks for playing!!

About a month ago we got the call from Derek at Martino Auto Concepts asking if we'd ever done an Enzo. *Obviously the answer was no, however do we have the capability to do one, yes absolutely. *A couple days later, MAC had the Enzo in the shop, wheels off the car and tech standing by for measurements. *We needed every tiny detail on the vehicle since we didn't have access to the car here in Miami or LA we needed them to provide us with all the specs in order to be able to reverse engineer the Enzo's centerlock hub setup and mounting surfaces. *We provided them with detailed drawings showing exactly what was needed and shortly after we had photos and detailed schematics from them. *At that point it was off to the races. *

With only a month to complete the set in time for their event which would debut the car, we knew this was going to be a tight one and would likely be down to the last minute. *We were right as the wheels were complete literally 1 day before the show and were overnighted to MAC along with the tires from Pirelli on a thousand dollar plus overnight Saturday delivery. *12 or so hours later, after struggling to get the massive 375's mounted, the car was complete and Cris from C3 Photography was standing by to get the shots in before the car left to the event.

The wheel setup was completely our choice so we opted to go with one of our new styles for 2012 release. *The ADV5.2SL which is a modified version of our existing ADV5.2 style, however this is the fat free version. *3 styles will be released using our superlight weight reduction process including this one shown in our 3 piece track spec configuration. *The lightweight model is vehicle specific in terms of design and load rating in order to get the lowest possible weight based on the load rating of the vehicle it's intended for. *In this case the Enzo, however without enough time to engineer them to be as light as they really could be by testing sample pieces for load rating analysis this set was beefed up for safety purposes. *We have however done so with the 1 piece version which has shown results under 18 pounds in some sizes / applications such as the Lamborghini Gallardo 18x12 race setup.

For the Enzo, we knew that only one tire was going to provide the epicness it deserved, the Pirelli 375/20/21 rear. *We contacted Jason at Pirelli tires and without hesitation he had a complete set on it's way to us, huge thanks to Pirelli Tires for coming through on this project. *The wheel was designed around the massive rear in a 21x13 size with a 20x8.5 front using their 245/30/20. *The wheel finish was our popular polished gunmetal lip / matte black center combination for this project as it's subtle yet at the same time different from what you'd normally see.

Martino Concepts did an amazing job getting this organized for us and providing all the much needed details and dimensions. *Huge thanks to Joe and Derek for the opportunity to be a part of this epic build. *Also, huge thanks to Cris from C3 Photography for being there for the shoot, and for providing some amazing photos literally hours after they were taken.

Last but not least, huge thanks to the team at ADV.1 for getting this done on time! *Tom, our engineer for working his magic, Justin for the programming epicness, Terrence and Sean for their sleepless nights trying to get the parts, machining and finishing organized and to everyone else who took part in this build.

October brought with it a five page feature in BIMMER MAGAZINE:

THEN the COVER of EUROTUNER:

We were also asked to participate in the NYC Columbus Day Parade, ummm, OK!

November 1st the MAC team was in Vegas, killing it over at SEMA. The Escalade was taken there courtesy of SONY to show off her new 15,000 watt system.

Came home, got back to business, quick. Doing a full Mansory build on a DB9:

November 20th it was again time to give back- we sponsored the D2 Toys for Tots run:

December started out just nuts, finishing our boy's SLK55 and trading it out for his Superleggera:

2011 marked the release of the highly anticipated 1M. Although it is a very rare car, we were still busy fixing them!

December 3rd we already announced the date for Bimmerstock 2012 (9/9/12)!!

As you can see, productive and exciting simply can not even begin to describe the past year. All that we've done and all we've accomplished could not have happened without all of our friends, customers, and supporters on this site. Simply put- without you, there is no us, and we are so very thankful for your continued support!!

And if you think we've done a lot already, wait for 2012, you ain't seen NOTHING yet!!
