Yellow Battery Icon (Codes thrown as well)
Hey All,
I've had my car garaged for some time now ever since October of last year. I used to drive it once a week, but since the car has been now at a shop, it only gets turned on in the morning to park outside and at night put the car inside when the shop closes. I took it out for a drive today and noticed that I got these codes: 2DEB: 2DEB Power management, vehicle wiring system control Error will not cause a warning light Error is currently present Test conditions have been completed Signal or value below threshold 2DC3: 2DC3 Control clamp 15 Error will not cause a warning light Error is not currently present Test conditions have been completed Timeout 2E8D: 2E8D Intelligent battery sensor, signal transmission Error will not cause a warning light Error is currently present Test conditions have been completed Short circuit or signal interruption My angel eyes also do not light up when I hit the unlock key. I thought that was kind of weird as well. Last thing I noticed was that when I shut the engine off I saw a yellow battery icon show up on the cluster. I immediately turned the car off completely. Could this be the battery causing all the problems? I cleared the codes and they have not come back... |

Could be a battery that is close to being dead. Look at the intelligent battery eye on the battery to see what color it is or get it tested would be my first and easy step.
If it is the original '08 batt, it very well could be on its last leg. 5+ years old |

That's what I thought too, but a battery test shows that it's good.
Actually, my 3rd day of driving constantly and now everything seems to go back to normal. No codes, Angel eyes light up and no more battery icon on dash. Good thing I didn't have to change the battery... Gotta stop driving the STi too much lol. |

Sounds like the battery was just low and it took the car a few days to catch up - may be an impending doom sign for your battery - I am still on my original 08 battery and always use a tender when not in use for more than a week, but I am starting to worry it will die soon on me!

Yea, I mean I know a battery replacement is almost warranted. As stated before, I was almost ready to buy a new battery, but the battery test gave me the reassurance to keep it for at least a couple more months.
