335i coupe seat belt stuck

Hi everyone. Longtime lurker. Did a search and couldn't find anything helpful.

My passenger side seatbelt is stuck all the way retracted. '07 coupe. It's folded over and jammed inside the mechanism, and I can't unfold it. Does anyone have any ideas?

I wanted to remove the panel covering it and see if I can get at it that way. Does anyone know how to do this?
