Hi, new to the group. Wife and I are considering ED for a 335i and have a couple questions:
1) Because you pick up your own car upon delivery to US when doing ED (right..?), does it really matter which dealership you order from? I ask because it seems to me that if everyone in the whole country doing an ED went through the same dealership (rather than by region) the savings would be maximized. 2) Regarding group the buy, what about the 335i sedan instead of coupe? |

To you both...yes, the dealer makes money off the ED sale, he doesn't really care what model it is. Although the sedan is apparently coming out later. As to the dealer you choose, you do have to go pick it up from him when its redelivered, so you don't want to make it too far away.

1. it kinda matters because you would have to pick-up the ED car from the dealer you ordered it from. and if youre on the east coast the travel costs of coming to CA would offset any savings. but it would be one hulluva road trip back also dealers offer courtsy delivery which for 500 bucks i think you can send the car to any dealer in the US but again that cuts into the savings part. and for some reason most dealers dont like doing this - well i guess its a lil slap in the face 2. im pretty sure you can put down a deposit for the 335 sedan. but you wont have a ED date until later. the 335 coupe ED dates are in their system now so you can pick out your dates you want to travel. im not even sure if BMW announced the 335 sedan relaese dates...i heard dec. or maybe even march. |

Thanks for the replies BiggieJ and slubu.
I did not realize it was an extra $500 for the courtesy delivery. Also sound like this deal is going down soon, and I really want to know the price on the 335i sedan before we commit. We are 90% sure we are getting a 335i sedan to replace the wife's 325xi lease, but not positive yet. The G35 and IS350 have not been ruled out. |

It's been a while since someone has posted something here but I just wanted to let the people who might be interested know that yesterday I went in to talk to my CA and I mentioned how there are other people who'd be interested in getting a Group Deal on ED and he said that he would do it for $1250 over Invoice of ED. He did also mention that hte more people he gets the bigger a discount he'll give us. If anyone is interested PM me and I can give you his contact information

but as also mentioned, possibly if you go to your nearest dealer for service when you didnt buy from them... you might? not get the dearest treatment... which would be a shady situation I agree. |

Calling all potential midwest buyers: ED group buy deal, starts at $1200 over invoice for 335 sedan or whatever and goes down $100 for each additional buyer -- not sure what the bottom limit is. I want to get this in ASAP to get ED before winter. Model codes are up on centernet and the dealer here should be able to take preliminary orders very soon. PM me or respond to list. I will set up a separate thread tomorrow. Autobahns, here we come!!!

BiggieJ: I'm definitely interested, but I wouldn't be planning on picking up the car until May 2007 to coincide with my honeymoon (figure that driving around in a new Bimmer is MUCH better than catching trains all over europe). I could put down a deposit anytime though.
If that won't be a problem, I'm definitely in. May be considering the 328 instead of the 335 depending on final cost.. |
