how long should an order take???

I ordered my e92 last Saturday for an ED in October. Its been over a week and the dealer says they have not heard back from Germany.

Is this normal or is something going on?

Unfortunately, I do not have flexibility on my delivery. I am tying to a work trip.

Normal - especially with a brand new production car.

Did you order iDrive/Nav or get it in Red?

Yeah - Red and iDrive have production delays till September. It says it right in the E92 brochure (not the vehicle-specific brochure).

I have no idea why either are delayed - especially the red. I can only go off the speculations on the iDrive delay from what I've read on this board but I have yet to see a suggestion that sounded like the 100%-without-a-doubt answer.

The nice news is that our first 335i and 3 328's went into production yesterday

Same for Sparkling Graphite, Deep Green, Montego Blue. I read this in the german E92 flyer.

I ordered my E92 328xi w/nav in April (4 days after its announcement) for an Oct ED. I still haven't heard anything.

I just got my production number today for my 335 Coupe.

I asked for a 9/21/06 ED pickup, but BMW bumped it to 9/27/06. When I requested an earlier date the second time, they came back and said 9/27/06 was the earliest date for my configuration (I ordered NAV). My dealer made me believe it was the first date you could get an E92 with NAV. Has anyone got an earlier date? Want to trade?

FatSal, when did BMW confirm the ED pick-up date? Was it before they assigned a production number? I'm hesitant to make travel plans before getting the date confirmed.

I got both the production number and the ED pick-up date today. Surprisingly, BMW Germany emailed my dealer back immediately when I asked to move my date up slightly. My production number doesn't work on the Owner's Circle website yet, but from what I have read, it can take a day or two.

I placed my order about 1 week ago and the dealer told me I would have my production number (and ED pick-up date) within a day or two, but it ended up taking just over a week.

Hope this helps.

I orderd my 335 and was told by three different dealers (shopping) that the world release date to any customers for this car was on 9/25 and no one should be allowed to have the car before this day. I got the email forwared to me from the dealer with the production number and pickup date on the same form from BMW USA.

I am picking mine up on 9/26 in Munich.
