E92 328i Sports Package question...

When i order the e92 328i (maybe 335i depending on price) im thinking about not getting Sports package because i dont like the style 197 rims, and would rather save how much ever im going to be paying for it and put it towards a nicer set of rims...

This said the sports package only comes with
Style 197 rims
Sports seats
top speed of 150

here are my questions...
Sports suspension is standard?
Paddle shifters are standard?
and are the sports seats worth getting the whole package for?
and if some of you are ask why dont i just get the sports package and sell the rims... because im most likely going to lease...but im not sure again this all depends on lease rates vs. buying price....

suggestions comments appreciated ... thanks

Supposingly the paddle shifters are ONLY for the 335, and ONLY with the sports package. Which really, really sucks.

The suspension is gonna be more sporty then the coupe in both cars, but I think it may be more fine tuned for the 335.

Are there BMW wheels that you like? It is easy to order whichever rims you want (230s!), and be credited for the 197s.

Sounds to me like a 335 ZSP, Step (paddles), 230 rims is the way you want to go.

yes thats what i would love.... BUT... since im only 19, going to school and only working part time, money wise i dont see that working out... i mean i can have my dad make my monthly payments... but i just dont feel thats the right things to do... id rather just stick with making half the monthly payment and my dad the other half... id just feel better if im somehow chipping in ... Do you guys see e92 328 lease rates going above 500 a month? because for our 745Li we pay somewhere around 1k a month... just tryin to make some sense of all this

Wow im impressed You sound like a pretty responsible kid choosing the cheaper car and wanting to chip in on the price, rather than just having your parents get you the most expensive car possible.

Get the 335i, you will regret it later if you don't.

And by the way, IMHO, the sports package is worth it for the seats alone. Call me crazy but to me the Bimmer's interior is really missing something without the sport seats.

A 328 will be an awesome, wonderful car. If the wheels are that big a deal you should still be able to order the 230s, although I suspect it will cost a lot. I would hold off on the 335. Definitely consider going for a father-son Euro delivery trip though. And cut costs wherever you can on options. IMO, a plain, simple 328 with nothing but ZSP & step in a non-metallic color is the best value.

Honestly i dont think i would regret getting the 335i, just for the reason that power isnt the main reason im buying this car and thats the biggest diffrence between the 328 and 335, among many other diffrences. If i was buying for power and not everything else id get a IS350

Thats why i asked this question to know if the sports seats are a big aspect of the car or not, and i guess they are so ill have to take that into consideration.

For the wheels honestly to me they sometimes make the car look soooo much better: a perfect example is the 325 w/ zsp that come with the 17's and and 330 zsp that comes with the 162's... the 162's make the car looks 10x better then how amazing it already looks... soo yes the rims are a big deal to me.

For the color i dont think the $475 is not gonna allow to me to get the color i want... when i first saw the e90s i was set on a metallic Saphire Black for my e92, but since the car i drive now is black, also maintaining black is hard, and after having seen all the colors in person on the e90 i just loved the Alpine White.

Holding off on the 335i i think is also a better idea not just because of immediate costs but of gas. Im sure the 328 gets a lot better gas mileage then the 335.

Alpine white is a fine color IMO. 328 will get better mileage and probably be about 6k cheaper. But the 335 will have some nice options standard.

As far as seats and colors go, it is best to visit the dealers and see them, sit in them, drive them firsthand.

E92 is a hot car, I suspect AW will be relatively rare, with most folks opting for flashier colors.

yea- should be the same as was for E46- coupes come with sport suspension standard, and now xenons are std too!!! I definitely agree ^^^ that the sport seats are a must!! If they are like the E90 seats with adjustable side bolsters then they will be amazing, get the sport package!!! BTW, you may just find somewhere to go 150 so that's a nice feature too!! damn I wish I had a E90/E92!!

I dont know about the rareness of AW... because at first thats what everyone said about the e90 and here in So. Cal. where i live exactly in the Burbank-Glendale area AW is one of the popular colors... if i had to rank it would be something like this

Black(both metallic and non)
Sparkling Graphite
Titanium Silver
Alpine White

Any predictions on color popularity for the E92 -- I sense a poll coming on -- Space grey, blacks, silver, blues (montego, Monaco), AW, Red, arctic, green would be my guess.

Is there any official word out on the gas mileage for the 328, 328xi and the 335? I know there is a document stating 20 city and 40 highway, but those numbers seem a little high for the coupe (even though I hope it is true).

Not trying to be a fan boy here, but a 335 would smoke an IS350 in pretty much every "power" aspect. Now, the rumored IS500 would be a beast, but that is still a rumor, and could cost as much as an M3.
