Should I put a deposit on this?

Hey guys,

I'm in the process of gettin a new 325i but the exact car I want is in Nebraska or something. The dealer is askin me to deposit $1000 to bring the car over here to Chicago, but is this something I need to pay for.

I wouldn't want to buy the car until I see it and if it's the car I want, I would be more than willing to pay the car in full with the financing I set up at my own bank. He also charging me $600 on top of the 695 I have to pay for destinantion & handling already for the shipping.

What should I do? Any tips would be appreciated.

Transferring cars does cost the dealer money.
If the $1000 is refundable, there's no reason not to do it.

What do you mean you want to see it first.

Most people special order their car and do not get to see it first.

It's not just about horsepower, but how powerful your horses are.

similar situation with me. put thousand dollar down deposit to have them ship the car i wanted. i backed out and got my refund back in a week or so (make sure deposit is refundable).

but the extra money for brining it over sounds like nonsense. try to get them to explain what its for, if not go to another dealership and they might not charge you for that.

also some dealers vary their depoist. some dealers told me 500 deposit, some told me 1000 deposit. so don't be afraid to shop around other dealers near you.

always remember that if one dealer can get this for you, so can anyother dealer. don't feel locked in at just one dealership for your car.
