Can you run METH on COBB? If so, would you run 93 octane map or 91 octane map? I'll be using 91 octane fuel as calgary really only has one 94 octane option. * husky * and it is ghetto.... I was running it with my 93 octane map but it nocks and gas mileage is shit.

91 octane seems to be the way to go for me, also the 91 V2.02std is a little more linear then 93 V2.02std, that tune gives you to much boost regardless of what you do.

You can run meth on anything. I run it stock tune, AP, and all the other tunes i ran. I run 93 and if meth fails the worst that happens is it acts like a jb3/4 and the factory dme pulls timing out. Not the best system but its a reliable back up. Or you can get the meth companies fail safes that bypass boost solenoids or open bov's to dump all boost and its fine.

With higher boost applications it'd be wise to run a failsafe wire from your meth controller to a boost dump solenoid like the BBK-20 from labonte but yeah no issues running meth with Cobb ...as temps rise it provides for more run to run performance consistency due to charge air cooling...I'd run 50/50 mix at most with a max maybe a single M5 nozzle on the stage 1 tune...you don't need much volume

Just to follow up, I received my AP back from Cobb yesterday. I updated the firmware to the latest beta and installed it without any issues.

64 pages ... I did a search and I could find anything but this thread its self, if you simply linked me to the answer it would be more helpful.

I cant get over how everyone loves to tell people to search still. It not like Im posting a new thread. Get off your high horse.

I would have if I weren't on an iPhone, in addition to giving you shit anyway, Cobb posted that it was NOT due to exhaust restrictions or other mechanicals - just that the 535 they had was pushing even stock "kind of low" and they left it at that since they had no other 535s to test with. so they left it at that

I don't know how you expect people to have "links" at their fingertips? So someone else should spend a few minutes searching for something? The fact he told you it's out there and has been discussed (vs. you wondering) should make you happy, instead of whine, and that with a bit of persistence you can find it.

Look for a thread started by me on Cobb, it's got some more details in it as to why and worth a read. You can bump it too maybe so we can get an update from them hopefully!

My point is if you cant provide any input to being helpful why waste the database space by telling people to "search"

I have been on this site sine 2007, and have started some of the most popular threads on here and have over 3,000 posts. Dont you think I know to search? People assume that since you ask a question that has already been posted that you didnt search, when the fact is my search is what led me to this thread.

As I said, I think it's still more helpful than no response at all, someone telling you a real post exists, rather than you possibly chasing something that doesn't.

And on the searching you did, sorry, I call BS on that. I just did the search within this thread for the word 535 - not some magical keyword - and guess what? Fourth hit down was my post on this topic...

I have a 2007 335XI 4door and I bought COBB about 3 weeks ago. I finally did a 0-60 run and the thing recorded 4.6 seconds. F*CK this thing is fast! Full tank of gas too and I didn't really launch the thing either, I am extremely impressed.

Purchase new AP for 1M?

I posted this in the 1Addicts forum as well, but just had a quick question: If I upgrade to the 1M Coupe, will I need to purchase another AccessPort? (currently drive a 2009 135 and have AP installed) Or would I simply download a new map since its an N54 engine as well? I'm assuming I can use the same AP but just wanted to be sure!

Once you "uninstall" the Cobb AP from your current 135 you can use it on any other BMW that is compatible with the AP.

Whether Cobb is going to support the 1M ECU/ROMs is something I have zero clue about, however...

Nice! Any BMW? Including new/future N55 iterations?

If so, then I'm even more in love with my AccessPort...what a versatile product

Quick recap on how my recent Cobb experience went:

* Ordered unit from Jeff @ TopGearSolutions yesterday. Arrived today!
* Attempted to flash to car, but got a "Unsupported Vehicle" message
* Ran the AccessPort Manager software and told it to download the beta updates
* Re-flashed to car and this time it worked (takes awhile to flash)
* However, noticed it downloaded v201. Sigh.
* Went to cobb.com and manually downloaded/transferred v202
* With all the time spent going back and forth it started to rain so I can't even test it out now

Edit: Okay I had a chance to take it out. It's definitely got some more power, it gets to 100 very quickly, and the traction control has never seen so much use. However it's not like it's a totally different car or anything, or some sort of pavement pounding torque monster... it's still the same car, just a bit quicker. I have a dyno session scheduled for tomorrow so I can so what it's putting down.

Am I glad I got it? Yea. I think so. Now I just need to see how bad the MPG hit is...

Do you guys notice that the dtc light flashes alot more often with the Cobb? I could be in 3rd gear on a dry highway and if I punch it the light would start blinking but I don't notice it cutting power though. I doubt i have enough power to spin 3rd gear with my MT rwd car.

Thanks for the order!

The MPG should stay the same if you drive like a grandma. Most people on a tuned car who notice an MPG hit find that hit because they are abusing their right pedal more.

ON a side note I notice the car is faster with traction control all the way off on any of these tunes.

I think the road speed sensors are acting up and holding some people back.

I was noticing the same thing this weekend. I have 265 Conit DWS and at times, in third at 50-70mph I can set the TC light off. It was even happening immediately upon hitting the gas before I could tell the engine was responding. But it would also do it up higher in the rpms.

Sometimes I could feel it cutting power and other times not. I am guessing it was dependent on the severity of the wheel slip. The TC light will turn on at any time if senses any wheel spinning out of sync with the others, so it might be power related.

I only have about 100 miles on the wheels though so I might still be in the breakin period. Per my dyno, I am pushing 380+ wft/lb, so it might be reasonable to get it loose if grip isnt great.

I have 275 Conti DW with about 800 miles on them so grip shouldn't be a problem.

Hmm...
