Mine came today too. Not going in until my annual oil change as I never had any issues.

Got it today (5.14.12). Will go in when I'm due for an oil change in June.

Mine came today. My car runs so well I'm reluctant to allow them to touch it!

my SA told me bout the recall a while ago but said there was nothing they could do now. So they knew about it but had no fix?

Curious about whether efficiency or power changes with this recall, more curious about whether or not power changes.

Guess more robust EGR and minor tweaks to Adblue metering.

Yea. Based on reading the notice, sounds like it could be a detune.

Edit: after speaking with an engineer its also possible that it could actually be an increased performance remap due to forcing a more complete fuel burn.

How do we find out?

I got the notice yesterday.
I'll hold off until my next scheduled service appointment. Then they can fix my A/C belt squeal while they're at it.

I have never had an issue. If we can elect to skip the campaign, will it void our warranty? I don't want a detune.

The only way I can think of would be pre and post dynos but, that means someone is going to have to be a guinea pig.

Yes your warranty will be voided if you don't get the work done. A detune is the LAST thing anyone should worry about.

It would be funny of BMW reiterated the use of higher cetane fuel and perhaps provided a list of "allowable" cetane boosters. *smirk*
