Car being delivered tomorrow - what to look out for?

Hi folks

My new car - a 318i M Sport [143 bhp] - is being delivered tomorrow morning. Since it's an ex-management car, sourced by a dealer over a hundred miles from my home, I have yet to see the vehicle.

Obviously I will take it for a quick test drive when it arrives, and give it a good look over. But there is always a limit to what you can spot at first.

Any advice on what checks to go through, anything I should look out for?

Cheers
FM

is this a brand new car of used if new you have no worrys, if used check all alloys wheels and look hard around the edges for refills and chips, when you get in the car there is a sliver piece of trim inside on the door, this gets wacked lots with the seltbelt, look for chips u may get some new ones if they are a bit rough, run your eye across the bonet for stone chips or dents, ask for mats too,

Make sure the torch is in the glove box, check the paint for swirl marks as most BMW delaers used an automatic car wash and the 90 series paint is rubbish. appart from that enjoy what should be a great day.

If it's coming on a flat bed, check underneath the front bumper that the winch rope/shackle hasn't gouged the paint/plastic.

Must admit, I can't offer 'much' advice. Enjoy the 'handover' experience. Mine was used, so I had the dealer do some 'corrections' and 'Smart Repairs' before I was satisfied with collecting the car.

However, just ensure that you check all around the car, bodywork, alloys, ensure all your 'options' are present. If you're taking out GAP, Wheel Insurance, ensure you're happy with the paper-work. Don't be afraid to leave the dealership if things aren't right though. They'll be quick enough to sort them out, if they're relying on 'banking' your sale this quarter !

I made an Audi dealer wait a week whilst he sorted out the cock-ups with my TT and I got compensation for the inconvenience as I'd already p'exed my other car and had no transport...

If your 'torch' is missing then Sergei (aka Viv) can always sort you out

Check for scratches on every panel. Look for interior trim scratches...

look for accident damage, check panel gaps. Joints and nuts and bolts holding wings and panels.
