See attached picture to compare the plug vs 4g wire. Also keep in mind, the wire runs are fairly short so most installs can get away with 8g. As for unplugging the gnd before plugging the pos side in , it depends if there is a load on the otherside. But might as well make it a habit and unplug it. From what I observed, you only lose trip meter and mpg calculations with negative terminal disconnected.. |

I did the same thing but no reason for guys not to get the larger diameter MAK-8 connector. The female socket is the same, just the arms which grab the wire that are larger.

I'm really late to the party, but i would like to thanks anyone in this post for the informations.
I was able to find the housing and the connectors even if the ETK for my car (F06 M6) doesn't show up anything related. I was 99% sure they were right by looking at your battery distribution box which has a slightly different global shape but the same concept as mine. Gone for the larger connectors so I can easily crimp the 6mmq (9AWG) wire or bigger, without any issue. Bought two different housing just for the sake of choosing a different fused line from the distribution block (in my car they are all populated, but I will add my external fuse anyway) 1 pole housing - 61136925176 2 pole housing - 61136925166 6-10mmq (~9-7AWG) flat-type Mak8 connector - 61136920094 Thank you guys Last edited by Aliendex; 01-05-2021 at 01:46 PM.. |
